Im buying my girlfriend a wii for christmas (she hasnt got any taste :P) and im just wondering about the nunchuks.
She wont be playing any FPS,rpg etc (any normal fun games lol) shes more into the fitness, party, just dance and family games etc. Will she be needing the nunchuks?

Most games wont start without the nunchucks

Definitely get them. I thought they were free anyway with the other part

I got a loan of a Wii without a nunchuk and learned this the hard way. Piles of games i wanted to play and nothing would work :)

Ahh okay :( Im not sure. im getting it from pla.... umm another website lol and it just says it has the wii remote with it. nothing about a nunchuck.

There's plenty of games that dont require them, but if your GF is into fitness a lot of these do need them.

You'll get one wiimote and one nunchuk with it, some of the Wii Sports resort and other games need the nunchuk and if you want to play with her (ooh argh!) you will need to buy an additional wiimote and nunchuk.
Do not be tempted to play against children unless you either think loosing is character forming for them or you can pretend you weren't even trying to win!

Is it worth considering the 360 with Kinect or the PS3 with Move? Don't need any controllers for Kinect and it's not that much more than a Wii.

Not much more? At least £140 for 4gb Console and £120ish for the Kinect I think is pretty much double and it for his girlfriend so she'll probably want a Wii fit board that she will never use lol.

a few of the Wii sports games require them too - boxing on normal wii sports, and the archery etc.. on Wii sports plus.

It's £250 for the Slim 360 4GB & Kinect bundle. A Wii fit bundle with the Wii Fit is what £200+?

Well if you do have the funds go with the 360. Itll outlast the Wii and youll actually get longevity out of it

How many people would play there Wii as much as a 360 in fairness?

Also i think the kinect will change the whole competition and possibly finish the Wii off

To be honest, I think the op should just stick to his guns and buy the Wii and Wii fit board.

Why? Well, the Wii is actaully quite suited to most girls as the fitness games are certainly a bit of a hit with them...

The 360 Kinect is still very new, not even out yet and this is a christmas present.. Grab a cheap copy of Mario Kart to go with it, some cheap wheel attachments and they'll have hours of fun during Christmas with Wii fit and Mario Kart..

A few months after christmas it'll maybe gather dust, but then so would the 360 unless he intends to use it, and to be honest if he uses it and it was bought as a present for his girlfriend, won't look good IMO.

Wii has, and always will be one of those christmas gifts that goes down well on the day... As to if it gets used past this - well who knows..

I got my gf a Wii and Wii fit two years ago.. Used if for about an year, finally she just joined a gym and she packed the Wii up. If she sells it, then its her gift to sell..
