Possible sensible-ish new car, what do you think?

Not comparing st tdci to st220, if anything the tdci will have higher running costs

I used to have an Audi A3 (2003) 1.9 diesel and that could do over 50mpg. Though servicing and parts were a bit steep :/

It is, I quite agree.

These people dont tend to be spending £7000 on bodykitted cars with big wheels, though, so I'd like to hope that £28 a month isn't a lot to him. If it is perhaps he needs to reduce his budget somewhat.

O I agree, hence why I suggested the zetec s which would be much cheaper to buy

Well no, £28 isnt a lot for me thank god. So then if it was you fox would would be looking at. The 2.5 Zetec-S?

I don't see the point of the 2.5zs when the st220 is comfortably in budget, fuel economy, servicing, insurance etc will all be much the same and you'll get a much better car out of it

If it was available for considerably less than an ST220, yes. I beleive you probably can find an equivilent Zetec-S for several thousand quid less.

Anything else you would reccomend? or does the mondeo seem thje best idea considering i can get money off parts to.
