69xx release date?

Hey, I'm interested in the release dates of these cards, anyone heard anything about them? I've not seen anything yet x:

why have they staggered the release ?

beats me, very strange this release by AMD/ATI.

I would guess becuase it keeps the 5000 series alive for the moment.

They can still sell them for the asking price... especially the 5870, as it still is the top single ATI GPU.

Also the other reason I would guess is becuase the one area they are losing to Nvidia is the GTX 460, so they hit that area first.

All based on market conditions.

Maybe it's to make people rush buy the 68xx at their current price? (Or even the the 5870/5970). The 68xx prices could potentially fall a bit when the 69xx come out.

AMD always launch their low end products first, same with the CPUs. Whilst NVIDIA and Intel launch their big boys and then lower end later on.

there was probably reasons for this AMD has still the fastest GFX card on the market 5970. Hence they took a bit more time to release the big guns. Had Nvidia been competative and released george grill fermi 6 months earlier....things could have been different.

They probably assume these will be there most profitable cards, cant imagine your average joe blogs spending much more than £200 on there GPU, surely this is there biggest market in sales.
