Yeah i think you used to have to try and triangulate for scanning signatures, but the process has been greatly simplified, or so i've heard as i never actually did scanning before the apoc expansion.
There are some youtube vids out there of how to scan, which prove very helpful including some tips and tricks to help speed things up. Sometimes scanning can be laborious when you have like 40 sigs or something ridiculous, and sometimes it's very exciting, like when you have targets in your system and you have to combat scan them down without being seen.
Combat scanning of course is pretty much the same, except you use different probes and most experienced combat scanners only use them at the very last minute to maintain the element of surprise, which is essential in wormhole warfare.
And yeah drop by the ocuk channel, there should be some alliance members there. I won't be on much this weekend, but will be on sunday at some point, at which i would really like to have a chat with you, shadowman if you're resubbing this week, if not it can wait no problems.

I have been positive sec for the other 6 or so years. My main interest is really pvp as I'm not too excited by mining and production, at least not any more!
