I Require ENERGY and Lots of It!

coffee and lots of it gets me out of my lethargic zone - in particular before exercising :)

used to drink lots of Coke, I now have managed about 12 months with zero fizzy drinks (apart from Beer)

Really shouldn't be consuming a lot of caffeine before exercising, or any other time, tbh.
 
Define large amounts

I'd say more than 2-3 cups of coffee worth.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dead set against caffeine, I like a cup of coffee in the morning like anyone else, but you can have too much of a good (or maybe bad in this case, depending on how you look at it) thing.

I've never used caffeine in conjunction with any of my training, nor will I ever, I'll stick to carbs and, if I need a boost, glucose.
 
600mg of Caffiene is the RDA Maximum. According to the packs from MyProtein. It is a stimulant as such. It'd be the same as drinking redbull all day every day. Your body is heightened/on edge and isn't a state I'd want to keep it in!

Last thing you want is a Caffiene intolerance or addicition!
 
You need to stop being lazy, go to the gym. Fight through the mental battle, and you will be fine after a week or so.
 
Less you do the less you feel like doing. It's true.

Get off your behind and do something, eat well and get good sleep.

You are not lethargic or lacking energy, you are just lazy.
 
A cup of tea will usually do the trick. Though I generally perk up before training anyhow due to excitement. And then also the walk in the cold!
 
I hate the cold, it always gets me down before the gym! Luckily I'm at a FitSpace gym and since it used to be a fitness first, there are nice hairdryers in the changing room so i just warm myself up with that for a few mins and I'm good to go!

I prefer some form of CV or dynamic stretching before a workout but whatever floats your boat :p;)
