Anyone excited for windows phone 7?

with mine it had 4 orange apps pre installed when i got it, first thing i did was uninstall them all and change the default colour scheme from orange to blue.

had myself a stock phone in seconds :P

Well, seeing as I am bored of waiting for the Mozart, I am going to get the Omnia 7. If I am not getting on with it, I will return it within 7 days and hope the Mozart is in stock by then :D
Only problem is the website will not let me get the flipping thing, keeps giving me the "oops" error message and fires me back to the main page. Very annoying. Wanted to do it quickly online, and not have to phone them. I will mention it when they call me at 4pm today.

I did ask him how Orange could be selling it given they are the same company. He said there was a problem with the phone crashing and resetting.

As said above, that probably just means that their crappy customization is causing instability.

Errrk, disregard my comments on the Samsung! It seems I was being shown the wrong device!!

Been doing more research today, and i had a look on Orange at the Samsung, and that was not the device I was handed as a "dummy unit" in the Orange shop.

It does look quite nice, not as smart as the Mozart, and the flash and camera are poorer and no HTC hub (obviously).

That's odd, as the reviews I've read suggest the Omnia has a much better camera (disregarding, well actually probably because it has less pixels). The only downside with the Omnia is the lack of proper flash, but then a proper LED is also a big bonus.

However, the screen is larger, and also is amoled. However, its battery is only 1500mah compared to the 1300mah on the smaller screen Mozart. No HD voice on Mozart, but it is available on the Samsung (does anyone really care about HD voice?!)

Only a bigger battery? :p

Yeah the screen is a teeny bit bigger but I bet most of the powerdrain is the other hardware so I'd expect the Omnia to last longer.

This is a much tougher choice now :( I made the "mistake" of going non-htc when i got my TG01. Whilst far from being a terrible device, it does lack the development/addons you get with an HTC branded device.

To make things worse, the Samsung is in stock today, and the Mozart is due in anytime. Although, that has been the line I have been given by Orange since Friday...

So in comparison, it's very hard to choose between the two!

That's the bit that's killing me with the Omnia 7, Samsung phones are usually rubbish, whereas HTC have gone from strength to strength WRT build quality and backup. Do either of them offer anything but a 1 year guarentee?

Well, I went with the Samsung. I have a 7 day cooling off anyway. I also have Orange care, so guarentee lengths never bother me. Fingers crossed its more reliable than past phones.

Delivery is for Weds, so i hope I get on with it ok :D

FYI, the Mozart is due in tommorrow, apparently 7.5k devices.

Very, very pleased with my Mozart and not a bad selection on the market place for launch. It's going to be a bit chicken and egg I suspect but once WP7 starts shipping in numbers I suspect the App store will fill up quite quickly given how many Microsft technologies based devs there are around the world.

Anyone know whether the UK winmo will be able to differentiate between UK and US zune pass subscriptions?

Zune is the only thing making me consider this over another android phone. I have a zune pass but it is a US one I have had for years (uesd my l33t skills to hack a US account:p) and if I could use it with winmo I may go for this instead of a desire HD.

This does'nt bode well seeing as My order is with t-mobile

Hi all,
Just had a call from T-mobile to say my Omnia 7 will be with me tomorrow.
Really didn't expect it as I was thought there was a problem with the T-mobile software.
The lady said they had only received 40 handsets and they were all spoken for.
Hope you get yours this time too Amakuma. More Omnia 7 handsets are due for T-mobile in a week or so.

Now roll on tomorrow.:p

The build quality has gone up but I wouldnt put them up there with Apple, Nokia and even Samsung - also their cameras are dire. If Nokia put decent OS's in their mobiles HTC would be gone for toffee imo.

No, that was an unfounded rumour (about windows) related to the MD as for Symbian, there is some hearsay that some Symbian will be scaled back, who knows what's really happening.

My 2 year old HTC device is better built than most of the newer nokias I've tried, the Desire and HD2 are also very good, much better than most of the Samsung phones out.:p

HTC have always provided higher grade phones than Samsung and generally Nokia, which is why I'm a little suspicious about going for a Samsung.

HTC phones tend to be marginally better than Samsung (varying from phone to phone).

They are certainly not of a better general standard than Nokia phones though!

Most modern Nokia Phones are terrible! N95/96 for example.

Either way there is nothing wrong with decent HTC phones BQ wise (by decent I mean expensive such as the HD, HD2, Desire, Legend etc, no idea what the cheap ones are like).
