Brit cop punch man 5 times in the face.

They shouldn't under any circumstances whatsoever ? What if the suspect had a weapon ? Had a hold of you and was trying to bite you ? I accept that wasn't the case here but cops can punch someone in the face as can anyone but the circumstances must warrant it and you have to be able to justify it.

What? Biting? So the outcome of punching him the face was...?? Knocking out his teeth so he can't do it again?

I respect you as a police office - but saying that officers are allowed punch people in the head to stop them from resisting arrest (or biting) is a bit over the top!

Whilst your at it, why not get your kosh out and smack him in the head with that if punching doesn't work!

Is punching someone's head when they are close to concrete floor not a bit risky?

Hopefully common sense would prevail here a little more often?

This goes on all the time, one of the few times a camera is there.

Ever watched Road Wars? A common "trick" they use is when an officer finds a small amount of marijuana on the floor of a car with 5 passangers, he then proceed to lie to them about the law by stating "if no one admits to this then I'll nick all 5 of you for possession!". Being naive in thinking a police officer is honest and wouldn't lie, one of them usually admits it.

In my personal experience, someone who is immune to CS isn't going to be swayed by a taser.

And again, personal experience, thick clothing argument is ********. It's been tried, personally. You get cracked with a baton, you're going to feel it unless you're wearing the same gear as the riot squad.

It's also been tried by me, personally. I have been in these situations before and I know what I'm talking about. Ta. :)

A Taser works completely differently from CS so I don't know how you come to that conclusion too.

If a woman officer is incapable of restraining someone under the influence they should call in back up.

And what if this is a rural force and back up is a good 15 minutes away? Then what?

If the officer suspects one of the occupants owned the controlled substance he is perfectly within his rights to arrest all of them so they can be questioned.

What is the legal meaning of "nicked"? He fails to explain the whole situation and conveniently leaves out the fact that if no one admits it he wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting a conviction. Kids hear "nicked" and poo their pants - he knows this so call it a trick or bluff if you prefer.

Nicked means getting arrested. Can you honestly say you have an issue with this?

Where is the lie? A police officer arrests somebody on suspicion of an offence. If nobody owns up, he suspects each of them of the offence so can arrest them

Police think they are beyond the law..

they will do as the see fit for "fun"

I know a cop who has admited useing his taser and punching people becuase they could and it was the only fun that they had in there job.

The English police are morons that cant do anything correctly.. Thank god they arnt allowed Guns like in the US

Is he based in the UK ?

But it's slang isn't it? They can't accept that they didn't find it on someone's person this time so they try to get a confession with idle threats which kids fall for.

I didn't used to but since my run in with the police earlier this year and how they tried to get me to confess to, and accept a caution for a crime I absolutely did not commit, my attitude towards them has changed somewhat.

Perhaps it's not a lie, but kids don't know the difference between "nicked" and getting a criminal record and he uses that to trick them.

I cannot watch any cop programe as the narrator talks rubbish and the cops abuse so many people that i cannot bear to watch it.

I have never seen anyone get 'abused' on it

Some people just like to slate the police for no reason. Its getting quite tiresome now.

I take it you have seen what can happen when a bite connects ? I have seen ears and a nose bitten off with a human bite, not to mention biohazards that can go with it.

A punch to the face when someone is trying to bite you, assuming other tactical options aren't available, is quite a reasonable response and that would go in my statement and in the report to Professional Standards.

Where cops can go wrong is striking people quite lawfully but leaving it out of the report that follows.

I respect you as a police office - but saying that officers are allowed punch people in the head to stop them from resisting arrest (or biting) is a bit over the top!

You can and it isn't over the top but you have to justify it in the circumstances. In truth though it wouldn't be my first option but if I was rolling on the floor with someone and they were trying to punch, kick or bite me then a punch to their face is not over the top. I can't baton them at that distance and position and I can't use incapacitant. What is left ?

Whilst your at it, why not get your kosh out and smack him in the head with that if punching doesn't work!

See above why that may not work but my back would really have to be against the wall to consider such an action.

Is punching someone's head when they are close to concrete floor not a bit risky?

Very but as I have said I would really have to be at risk and being attacked big style to consider doing such a thing.

Hopefully common sense would prevail here a little more often?

You mean not resisting arrest in the first place ? ;)

Some of us have very good reason.

Well, in my experience if a Police officer so much as looks at 'certain people' funny, they can get all upset and start kicking off.

There are a few people on here are moaning about being Tasered and CS'ed, for the Police to resort to that they must have been up to some seriously stupid activities.

Or did they just do it to these poor folks for 'sport'? :p

Dont be silly now Charley, I have not slated the police at all if you feel so "tiresome" why not leave the thread?

I do not have the time to note every infraction on this thread for you to mush over.
Every man here has a story to tell about what they went through, they dont need people like yoursleves telling them that they made it all up or asked for it.

You missed my point again. I didn't know exactly what it meant (although now it seems obvious) and generally speaking kids smoking weed aren't going to know that. They assume in their ignorance or lack of legal knowledge, that they are ALL going to get criminal records if they don't confess. It's a bluff, plain and simple.
