Sigh

Also the PS pad, its never changed EVER

You know this will be yet another thread that just has fanboys saying their console is best. So before that happens I would like to say:

THEY ARE ALL AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER.

:p

Oh wow SNES pad, hours of fun had with one of those.. PS pad has changed, but Sony are slow learners and still haven’t built in decent triggers. The L & R 2 buttons on the DS3 pad need more comfort IMO.

I think the xbox pad has become better, was a chunky pad for the original xbox but the 360 pad is quite decent as I think it’s a bit leaner and more comfortable, apart from the D pad position.. Never liked that…

Anyhow, the kinect and PS move are additional control methods to the existing 360 and DS3 pads, which IMO both the 360 and DS3 pads are both excellent and I can use them both, and have no problems with using them both.

The DS3 and 360 pad isn’t being replaced by controller less or wand motion controllers, plenty of games over the remaining years of these two consoles will use them still..

No need to worry IMO.

The Gamecube pad was sublime, particularly the Wavebird. I'd love a pad on that basis with a proper second analogue and extra shoulder buttons. The 360 pad is also lovely, though I don't own an Xbox.

The PS3 pad I find poor for most things, which is a shame as it's my main console! :p Trigger addons have helped though, but the main layout and shape is just wrong. Nothing wrong particularly with the Move or Wii setup either.

Yes, I too have clipped on some 'giotek real triggers' to my DS3 pads. Without them the triggers are nowhere near as good.

The DS3 pad sits ok in my hand, my real complaint with the pad is certainly the triggers.

I tell you one pad that I thought was good, actually almost an pre xbox pad. An MS sidewinder Pad for PC. Excellent PC game pad at the time. Haven't seen those for years, the 360 pad kinda took over on the PC - not that this is a bad thing.

360 pad is the most ergonomic of the lot. I don't even know what the hell they were thinking with the N64 pad, it's never good design to actually have two different ways of holding/using the controller. The other pads simply consolidate the D-pad and the left analog stick into the same place and it boggles me how well-paid control designers never ever thought of that in the first place.

I'm always laughing at how blatantly Sony has ripped off the Wii. It's not even subtle. At all. It's totally and utterly shameless. Kinect is simply a load of balls and highly embarrassing to both consumers and company.

Not liking the direction the industry has taken recently. Sony and Microsoft eventually won't either, when they begin to realize they've squandered away millions on gimmicks and flash in the pans that will fizzle out after a month or two.

:p don't hold back, tell it as it is eh? you might be right. I'd laugh hard if Kinect really does bomb as you state, but somehow I don't think it will.

and I agree 100% that the PS move is a rip off from Wii, but then we always knew this to be the case, hasn't stopped Sony shipping off nearly 3 million of the buggers though... Who says plagiarism doesn't pay? lol

I really like the 360 controller as it sits just right. Having said that I have fairly big hands and the PS3 always feels a little small to me now.

playstation pad was great, thats why they dont mess with it too much. doesnt the mario creator have input into nintendos strategy of new designs for pads?

Miyamoto does yeah, he designed the Wii's controller, and I think he was the man behind the fabled D-pad design too. (or was that Gunpei Yokoi?)

I liked it when I was a kid, would fit in my hands, same with the N64 pad, awesome pad for kids.

Think how much money they have saved by not messing about creating a new one, well they did that, Boomerang one what was just ridiculous, they soon binned that idea.
