is a 5850 faster than a 480

Go review his posts all he does is troll Nvidia and big up AMD, nice little thread about this kind of posting at the top of this forum. It's all in hand though.

Ok I am going to be heading home soon so would somebody be so kind as to point me to the crysis and re5 benches?

I have the original crysis but didn't know it included a bench. I don't own RE5 so if I need it then I will have to skip that bench.

Hopefully this thread won't fall off like most others do, the question isn't a bad one but lets do it properly with some numbers shall we. Seen as im going to be spending time getting the benches up It would be nice if, just for once, we can keep things civil and as unbiased as possible. ;)
 
can you run them at 4x as well as 8x to see any difference there plz :) (i play all my games at 4xAA so anything higher is irrelivent to me)

The problem with the benches will be a q6600 @ 3.0 is going to be a bottle neck for the 5850 where as ravens I7 will max out the gtx480. For this to be a decent comparison both machines would have to be similar. The resolution is also pretty low making it even more cpu bound.

It will still be good to see the results but in no way a fair comparison.

Wonder if there is anybody out there running a q6600 with a 480 that is willing to do some benches or even a 5850 (that will do 1000 core) with an I7?

Either way, the files are downloaded so I will get results up this evening. Luckily the mrs is out so I have some time spare :)
 
maybe someone else has i7@4ghz + 5850 and could jump in?
im on a 5870 limited to 900core so not much help :/

Raven seriously, if the mods treated you how you are suggesting they treat that other guy, you would have been banned long ago, so maybe you would like to think about that one.
Ironic you have zero tolerance on trolling, yet your one of the most prolific trolls on these forums.
 
Same could be said about you, all your posts are Nvidia bashing or AMD loving, it's all there for everyone to see, and for an account a few months old that's rather sad. Now I suggest you stop flame baiting and go review my last two months posts and realize there is no trolling there at all.

The guy in this thread joined last week and it's all Nvidia suck, AMD are da best. With you only being joined a few month you may want to check this thread out if you missed it.
