Can I run 4 monitors off my new 6870?

I wanted to chime in and say I, too, received my 6870 on Thursday. I picked up one of those Mini DP to DVI things from Best Buy that Apple and Dynex make, and it did NOT allow me to use the 3rd display. This may be obvious knowledge to some of you, but I know me and a couple others were curious. I ended up purchasing one of these instead link. It will be here tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be in business.
 
Did you happen to see that accell also makes a model called a B087B-004B (4 instead of 6 in the model #) that's 6USD cheaper, plus free shipping?

They claim eyefinity certification for both models on their site

I couldn't imagine how manufacturers could make this any MORE confusing.

Connectivity Requirements: ATI Eyefinity technology is supported by graphics cards in the ATI Radeon™ HD 5400 series and higher. These cards can support up to six monitors (depending on the model), subject to the following restrictions:
• A maximum of 2 legacy monitors (VGA, DVI or HDMI) can be enabled simultaneously, provided that each monitor is connected either directly or via a “passive” DisplayPort™ adapter/dongle. “Passive” adapters/dongles will NOT support more than 2 legacy monitors.
• To enable support for more than 2 monitors, “active” DisplayPort™ adapters/dongles are required (or monitors with direct DisplayPort™ connectivity must be used).
• Approved “active” adapters have no general connectivity restrictions with ATI Eyefinity technology.

Looks like the rumors of passive adaptors being good enough for 6xxx series cards is false.. Perhaps the new 28nm cards will have more clock generators.

Just got the above Accell adapter this morning and snuck home from work to give it a try. So far 3 monitors is working in Windows! Haven't gotten any games configured with it yet (reinstalling F1 2010 as I type, so I'll see how that goes later.) Hope this helps anyone else with any doubts.

How much was it?

Did you have to buy it in from the states?
 
Looking at the jungle it's $30, my god I think OcUK needs to stock them :eek:
So they're working great? My DP->VGA adapter is going funny so I might get myself one of those.
