Anyone got an geothermal heating system/source in there house? im going to be doing a 10 minute presentation/talk about how the system works. i have all the speech ready and presentation set out.
Im just finding it hard to get real life pictures of people installing it in there house. If you wouldn't mind sharing some pictures of the installation of the system (if you have any) it would be very much appreciated!

I could just lie and talk a picture of my driveway and say that has pipes under it but that wouldn't be very professional would it ?

Doofer I think he is talking about a heat exchanger type deal rather than underfloor heating. Would help if I could, conventional boiler type setup though :(

geothermal heating is where pipes are put underground to use the grounds constant temp to heat up the water.

I've been told that this type of system stops working after 3-4 years as the ambient heat in the ground is not replaced as fast as it is removed (i think because it dries the ground out?)
Does anyone know if this is correct?

Costs shedloads in electricity that for sure, from running the elecrtic motor to power the heat transfer system.

Often combined with economy7, to try to use most in the early morn hours to heat your house in the morning with cheaper unti cost iirc.

If installed in the wrong kind of ground, then yes this is entirely possible. Works best in wet ground, where there is a constant flow of water replenishing the latent heat in the ground.

should be using a small wind turbine or solar to power the pump. Ive looked into this for when i get a house over here.
