He was charged under the Communications Act 2003, for sending malicious communications that were grossly offensive.

Problem?

He deserved it. People like that drive me mad, theres trolling and then theres posting offensive things like profanity on a tribute page. Trolling takes guile and intelligence (IMO!) whereas he was just a tard.

What offends one person can highly amuse another, how can it be defined to be an attempt to offend or an attempt to amuse? Fail Law.

This tbh. People like this give trolling a bad name :p.

Jade Goody, I can understand as she was often a horrible person in life. But the boy who was mauled by a dog...deserved jail time!

How this snuck through the house of lords is beyond me. No doubt the peers saw the words 'Electronic Communication' and thought 'Ah yes, the telegram! What a marvellous mode of communication.'

Unemployed Coss was only caught when he sent residents on his street photos of himself saying he was an internet "troll".
One of the residents passed the photos to police who interviewed him before he eventually admitted to posting abusive messages.

What!!!!!! This is mental! Who calls the police over something so odd and trivial. and what police station takes them seriously, and why would you admit it, this seems rather strange.

"Police can we help? You say someone gave you a picture and addmited to trolling on the internet? LOCK ALL YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS, A SWAT TEAM WILL BE THERE SHORTLY!!!!111"

Basically, yeah I recon the BBC are trolling :)

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Bullying and harassment is a part of life. Man up.

Doesn't this affect his rights of freedom of speech, or freedom of own opinion? What the hell is this? Man, I think the whole staff of The Daily Mail and The Sun should just flee now because you know, they never post anything with the malicious intention to harm someone, it's just news.
