Cargo sparks security alert at US and UK airports

Makes you wonder just what gets shipped around in basic parcel delivery though. Sure it may be a storm in a teacup but Yemen is one of the major countries now for harbouring/nurturing terrorism.

Hahahaha.

"It was reported to be an ink toner cartridge that had been tampered with.

Sources told the BBC it was not a "bomb" but was "potentially sinister"."

Potentially sinister ink cartridges whatever next, clearly running out of inspiration to keep perpetuating the barrage of 'terrorist' threats we live under.

Unless its a bunch of mini dirty nuke cluster 'ink cartridge' bombs? :p

The BBC News coverage of this has been hilarious. Just watched a correspondant explaining that they dont know what happened but the police have 'all gone now'.

Because.. it's just a load of fuss about nothing.

They could have been used to print propaganda... :p

"The US would be happy that it was caught here before being sent on to the US [if viable]"

Oh well thats just ****ing fine and dandy then isn't it.

Lets potentially take a nuke in the face just to make the yanks happy.

BBC/Westminster GTFO!

If it is viable, how did it get here? Why do we not have similar buffering arrangements?

anybody kept on watching this?

F-15's following passanger jets with suspect packages WHY?

seen the report of the toner cartridge with some wires and powder inside.

laugh my butt off, as I know of many ink cartridges with simple circuitry inside to keep track of levels and to heat the ink, as for the powder? could be dried up ink!!! lol

Seems suspicious that only 2 days ago there were headlines on Sky where British Airports were no longer wanting to follow US security guidelines for flights. Guess the US will feel and remind us that their security measures are still required!

Sums it up really for me.

Well at least they checked to find out what it was. Say if it had been a device that would cause harm of some sort. Imagine how tight security would be then at Airports.
