How do people do the 'is at' on facebook with their iPhone?

I've recently noticed a lot of people updating there status with for example

X is at Selfridges

and it's always from an iPhone. I've had a look on iPhone facebook and can't see the option.

I can't remember the last time I updated my status so I don't want to use it but I'm curious as to how it's done.

Im pretty sure there is an option somewhere where you can let facebook show your location.

It's Places. Just hit the top left button, then places and check in to somewhere nearby.

Yes, because the 3GS also supports iOS4.

iOS4 as in the operating system, not the phone model.

Facebook App > Middle icon "Places" > top right "Check In"

Make sure you are running iOS4 and have the latest FB app installed

Is anybody else experiencing issues 'checking in'? On the 2 or 3 times I've attempted this, the application just freezes on 'Locating You' with the rotating symbol but never actually locates me. For example today I had full 3G signal and it just never resolved.

you dont need to be on ios4 or infact even an iphone for it. the touch site of facebook mobile has it built in so you can do it from your browser

if you dont have the option then try updating your facebook app
