MSN 8 Now Available - Out of Beta!

Hate the way you have to click in the textarea to type. Older versions you could just cmd+tab to the window and start typing. Definitely going to be rolling back!
 
Just can't log in no matter what I try

From the complaints of other people, sounds like it wasn't ready yet
 
Been waiting for this for ages... used the beta for a while a year ago before switching to Adium... which covers gchat, yahoo, facebook and MSN. No need for this now.

I hear rumour it will do facebook now? Any experience?
 
Oh, you can't change your display name.

I don't see Microsoft's infatuation with making everyone use their real names, but i'm not going to be forced to.

Rolled back to 7, allow us to use our own display names and i'll reconsider.
 
Yeah, although the Windows version has some hideous Facebook integration as well which admittedly, can be turned off but is just so utterly unnecessary anyway.

What's wrong with a small footprint, simple IM client that allows you to use your own displayname, and chat/video/call people on your list?

It should be as simple to use and basic as possible, not laden down with tons of crap.
 
Really don't know what you all complaining about.

I like the fact it uses your name now, I hate having to rename everyone, that for me is a huge plus that they force you to use your name.

Adium is poor in comparison tbh.

I've been using MSN7 and 8 for years now!

Hardly. Multiple chat windows is an out-dated concept, the all one in approach is much tidier and you can drag them in and out as you please.

Having to click on the text entry box instead of the chat window to begin typing is also a pain in the backside.
