is your house over 100 years old?

when i bought this house which was built in the late 1880's i had to spend a few ££ to drag it into this century. the previous owners had these ancient electric type heaters with bricks inside them that were so heavy i had to dismantle them to get rid and expand the kitchen by knocking down the walls that housed a toilet that you had to go outside to access.
i was thinking at the time how times have changed for the better:p

imagine what caveman thought the first time a woman got pregnant? i bet 100's even 1000's of the poor women were killed by the person who got them pregnant because they didn't know what on earth was going on

this is the topic i started, isn't it?

sorry i dont know when my house was built and really dont care as its a coucil house and i cant wait to get out.

im here for the **** talk :p

Built in the mid eighties, no ghosts unless the builders stuffed somebody in the cement.

Surely ghosts might exist if the plot of land built on carried some spectral presence?

To my knowledge my house was built in the early 1900's, in line with the boom of iron ore and industry found when the iron works opened nearby. My mother swears that its haunted, but I think she is just being delusional, seeing to believe and all that :p

It is not owned by my family, but rented. I am living in a house in New York state, built in 1820. Still has rock walls in the original part of the basement & a 4 inch thick wood door with a board in front to lock it.

Our flat is 1906 so just over 100 years, not haunted but after 3 years in it we discovered we had a basement only accessible after lifting the floor carpet and a hidden trapdoor. Never did get the balls to go down there though as it was exceptionally dark and dusty, even using a torch it just looked black.

Our house is around 1930, I love traditionally built houses. Sound proofing here is just incredible. We're mid-terraced and haven't heard our neighbours through our walls yet and I'm reasonably sure they're still alive.

1900 on the dot. Built for the foreman of the dye factory that used to be at the bottom of the street. Still got most of the original fireplaces with some of the quarry tiles. Just need to source some to replace the carpet in the entry area for that proper Victorian look.

Got a boom shelter from the second world war in the garden.

The managers house is still at the bottom of the street (just opposite where the factory would have been) and it's a big house.

The smaller houses for the workers are on the other side of the road.

I was recently looking at a house near where I work built in the 15th century (oldest house in the village) but, alas, it was a little out of my price range...

the mill i live in was built in 1835, not seen anything but do hear some strange knocks and bangs from time to time ( although the next door neighbours are having a baby soon so could have been them practising.)

My parents house was built in 1635, and i must say I have seen and heard quite a few things. Myself and my mum have seen a ghost cat at the top of the stairs. We have seen a chap walking straight through the living room a few times (the living room was built around 50 years later than the back of the house, and where the chap was walking used to be the road past the house). When i was living at home I once woke up to find the tv and all my electronic equipment switched on. (Yes it was all off when I went to sleep!)
