When i bought this car i was well prepared for mechanical costs but certainly not this :(

Bought the car back in April looking like this.

Absolutely spotless, the alloys needed refurbishing but everything else was immaculate! The car is a GTO TT MR in pearl white, MR meaning the light weight version so no fancy trick bits to go wrong. Pretty rare to find one in this condition.

However
No more than a month later it was looking like this :(

A little more than refurbishing needed now!

Unfortunately it was my fault, i pulled out of a blind junction onto a NSL road and got t-boned the guy was probably going a little to fast but no way of proving that, i'll hold my hands up though and say i should have been more alert.
Luckily no one was hurt bare a few grazes and my sore neck, i had my wife and daughter in the car so in no way was i taking risks.

A few months later, one big lesson learned, one driving course attended, days on the phone sourcing, fitting parts and one large body shop bill its now looking like this.

Without looking behind trim you'd never know any different and the body shop (The Spraying Specialist - Luton) have done a great job considering the task.

The cost in total was £3k including all part but excluding my time spent repairing the mechanical side of things!
Had it all been done by a garage i doubt i would see change from £5k and the car certainly would have been written off.

Bloomin eck, I thought you'd have scrapped it. Fair play for getting it all repaired :)

Everything properly alligned now? ;)

when you read the story about the old Supra that had to be broken when a claim was made i dont doubt the last claim.

nasty but sorted in the end
The brother has a UK version 3000gt in blue on white volks, lovely car, big lazty twin turbo though. Goes forward but does it on the sly lol,

Yes, I agree. The new alloys suit the car much better. It looks a fine example, pretty much showroom condition (ignoring the seat bolster :p )!

Yep, it got put on a jig to straighten it out, luckily beyond the suspension parts and the obvious body damage there was very little wrong.

Wow, that was a pretty solid hit......

Enough to spin the car 90 degrees! :)
