Hi, does anybody have access to the wiring diagram for a Mk2 Mondeo V6.

I am after details of the wiring to the alternator.

The alternator obviously has the main battery feed.
It also has a multi-plug with 3 wires, and a second plug with one wire. These are all thin wires (~1mm diameter).

I noted today that the 1mm wire on it's own doesn't locate securely into the socket since the plastic locating lug is missing.

The previous owner had a new alternator fitted around 15k miles back so I imagine it was damaged in the process.

Just wondering what this wire is for?

Also, how do you think I should secure the wire?

The text book way I guess would be to obtain a new plug or a length of cable with the plug on from a scrap yard and solder. Can I put a dab of superglue on the plastic connector, quickly locate in the socket and allow to dry? Would this be reliable?

TIA!

Normally a thin wire would be for some kind of signal, so that the alternator can start to charge the battery.

Right for some reason i cant view the wiring diagrams as i need SVG viewer, tried getting it but it doesn't seem to do anything on my macbook, Does anyone know anything else that will work instead?

Inkscape is open source and should let you view and edit SVGs, there's windows and mac versions available.

Its actually a fault with the site, when looking at other things it is working fine. Just seems to be the actual diagram thats needed that aint working on the mac.
I can get the pic up on a netbook, but the screen just isn't good enough to upload the image. Cant get the full image on the screen.

I found this image on TalKford forums. Not my wiring but it's this wire.
