Ok OcUK carnivores. Make yourselves known.

I'm sitting here on a Saturday night, veggie girlfriend is out, having polished off a plate of weekend meat-based dinner and the meat worms in my brain have mixed with the red wine and got me thinking. What's my favourite meat?

I love steak. Cooked well, it's pretty good with a pile of chips or wedges, or even stuffed between two hunks of bread. Ground up, I have to say a burger cooked slightly pink and sat in a ciabatta roll with some melted cheese and lashings of ketchup takes some beating. And then there's the Sunday roast; pink in the middle rib roast, roasted veggies and lashings of thick gravy with some English mustard.

What about a slow roasted joint of lamb with garlic and rosemary, melting off the bone, so tender you could carve it with a spoon, effortlessly sitting in the oven all day and filling the house with that glorious roast smell?

But then that's all Sunday talk. A rack of ribs slathered in bbq sauce, sat on a bed of crispy fries and maybe some onion ribs and a beer takes some beating. Corn cob on the side, maybe another cheeky beer...

Oh, but Sunday morning wouldn't be complete without some pork. 3 types of pork. Bacon, sausages, black pudding or you can't call yourself a true man if your fry up hasn't got all three.

But having said that, I think my favourite is chicken wings. Maybe it's the fact that they come in a box of about 20 and you get properly involved when you eat them. You need both hands, you get it all down you and all over the floor and you end up with a big pile of bones.

Man food has bones in it. Anyone who can't eat meat that has bones in it should be a vegetarian. What the hell do you think you're eating after all?

Bring on the bones. Bring on the meat. What's your favourite?

Man after my own heart

I absolutely love ribs, chicken wings are great but not up there with teh rest of your list. If I had to choose, Probably say ribs.

Edit - surely it is time for pasty to be banned with the rest of the non funny OcUK fads.

Lamb. Beef. Chicken. I'm so manly I love em all. Well, not love obviously as that's for girls, but I like them as much as I like diggers , cigars and stuff.

Veal. Simply because it manages to be delicious while winding idiots up something chronic.

Veal, cooked plain on a barbecue or griddle pan for not very long, with a squeeze of fresh lemon over it after it's done resting. Serve with ratatouille (the hotter chilli-wise the better) and proper French bread.

Job done.
