Recently found out my idle temps with my i7-860 @ stock settings is running at 70c when previously it was around the 40-45 Mark, what could be causing this? Ive tried resetting the h50 and applying some new thermal paste still idle at 70c, I believe the pump is working i can feel it is vibrating slightly when i put my hand on it, any ideas? Thanks

doesnt mean its working bud....pumped could be jammed and still be vibrating

if those 2 programs say 70c plus then theres something wrong....take the unit of and give it a sharp bang on the side  this may cox the pump in to life....if not rma it...

thats what id do anyway :)

Ill give that a go, Thanks

Radiators definatly clean

The tubes are very hot aswell, this mean its still pumping?

One thing nerve-racking about the H50 is you cant tell whether the pump is working or not, the vibration like the above posters have mentioned, can be misleading. I'd check the pump wire again or reapply the paste, but maybe put a little amount of paste. My H50 is slightly hot at times 45c idle with Phe
nom 9850be, which im thinkin is due to paste not settled in yet. Also a push/pull fan config' may shed off couple if degrees. my 2cents.

Did you tighten the pump screws till they just stop and are you using a 3pin fan header that gives 12v as this effects pump performence RPM as well. My mobo has a 3pin marked 12v in the manual diagram, l tried a one of the other 3pin headers and there was adifference in RPM.

Yellowbeard[Corsair Tech Support] > Just be sure that your pump is getting a full 12v connect the pump to a 12v fan header.

yeah good call...i read this also

do you have fans connected to the radiator? if not that would explain this..
i would definatley strap 2 fans push/pull on to it. sorry i just took it for granted you had at least one fan on it

plus check were you have it pluged like oldphart says

Thanks for the reply guys,

I was getting around 40-45 on idle previously only within the past 2 days its shot up to 70, it must still be getting the full 12v right?

Yeah ive got the supplied fan strapped onto the radiator, just one

Im just confused how the temps are now so high when previously it was 40-45 and i have made no changes.

corsair do say rma it back to them or your prefered local retailer......by this i think they mean you can get the place where you purchased it from to rma it back to corsair.....might be quicker and easier to send it back your self......

if it was new i would go straight back to the place i purchased it from...as they may replace it for you......after a while i would go to corsair...
