What unpopular opinions do you hold?

That most of the recent bomb scares (including the current "toner bomb") are staged by Governments to remind us that anti terror laws are good for us. Funny that this current scare came not long after airport bosses said that airport security in too tight...

The cynical and suspicious side of me thinks that it is awful convenient that these Yemen bomb scares occurred just in time for Obama to look tough on terror before the election.

I thought is was suspicious that it happened the day after airlines and airports wanted to relax certain security procedures also.

Heres an opinion that wont sit well with some people! I don't think gay or lesbian couples should be allowed to adopt children under the age of eighteen.

I don't mind if they adopt children of any age, but I do not see why a Catholic adoption agency should be forced to accommodate them.

If they wish to adopt there are plenty of secular and non-Catholic agencies to choose from.

Forcing the Catholics to go against their beliefs (however wrong-headed they may be) will only mean that they will cease funding the orphanages and adoption agencies they currently maintain thus forcing the State to pick up the slack.

Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, so live with it.

(that should get some riled up)

Probably down to women being on average less racist than men. Funnily enough, they tend to be more accepting of homosexuality too.

As for your opinion, does that extend to white people having children with asian/oriental/hispanic people as well?

Probably, again I see it much less than what I mentioned.

Castiel I always perceived you as rather intelligent! Please tell me you don't honestly believe people are gay out of choice?

lol, not really, just being a contentious old sod.

However, I have come across a few that have indeed made a specific lifestyle choice to be homosexual and have since reverted back and vice versa.

To be open and honest about it, I think that the "normal" situation is bisexuality and it is only formality and cultural taboo that has made it so divisive.

The ancient Greeks didn't question someone's sexual preference, neither did it particularly matter. Alexander the Great being a good example.

My personal choice is a monogamous relationship with a woman (my wife), but that because I'm too lazy to contend with anything more complicated. ;)

The few people that you came across (did you see what I did there ) were obviously as you say bisexual, but a gay man or woman does not choose that lifestyle!

That you can encourage people to display their underlying bigotry by implying they are in a competition to be the most controversial.

There is a specific lifestyle that some do choose, mainly homosexual men. (this has little to do with their specific sexuality though I suspect and more to do with some need to socialise in a collective way)

I have a friend who said he was not bisexual but completely homosexual, then he met a woman and now they have been married for 6 years.

He just says that he loved her from the moment he saw her and that was it. He maintains that he was not bisexual, and that he isn't now either.

There are homosexuals that have, for whatever reason chosen a strictly heterosexual lifestyle and I suspect that the opposite is also true.
