We have noticed a few group of kids doing the rounds tonight, some with their parents but none of them have come and knocked on our door... probably because our house like 11 others on our street are blacked out with curtains drawn. The other 2 houses on our street where one of them is decorated in halloween gear all over the front and the other have not got any curtains drawn at all and fully lit are the only ones that have been targeted by "them" tonight.

I remember 12 or so years ago when I was really young when their used to be no end of groups of kids knocking on the door every year and we had run out of sweets within an hour. Though in recent years the groups of kids knocking on doors has died down and I think the last time I remember kids knocking on our door on Halloween was probably around 5 years ago.

Yep will be giving sweets to the kids no problem at all.

Only downside to tonight's trick or treaters was when we got a knock at the door saying an old timer had fell over the road from us. When I got there to see what had gone on, the old guy was absolutely smashed out of his face. He was getting quite abusive to the passer by who helped him to his feet.

So not only did it spoil the time with my kids, it spoilt it for the passer by and his kids and quite possibly wasted an ambulance call out as well.

Yay for ****** up old codgers.

I had quite a few round, the younger ones looked like they were enjoying themselves and had made a big effort, so got lots of sweets. Then as it got later, they got older and older.

Had two goth looking girls come round looking rather - nice.

Then had a group of chavs turn up in hoodies, I could hear them shouting at the neighbours so didn't answer the door. They started kicking it when I didn't open up, and one shouted "open the ******* door", so I didn't. Wish I'd had a paintball gun actually. ;)

I didn't answert the door all night apart from when I ordered a Pizza..

Opened the door to collect the Pizza and heard someone say "that doors open" and then heard them running... :(

Only one lot came. It appears that lessons have been learnt and they all now go to houses where there is a welcomingIt appears that lessons have been learnt and they all now go to houses where there is a welcoming Halloween object.

Live in quite a nice area, so it tends to be groups of very small kids early in the evening (just as it's dark but still light) normally "led" by a single bored looking parents round 'ere.

My mum normally buys loads of sweets just in case, always get to sit with a scary film in the evening and eat the sweets which is quite cool.

god no.... i shut the blinds, turn the lights off and watch tv with the sound low.. ;)

the fact i have a scream outfit in the wardrobe.... whadda you think!? :D

Door bell is inside the porch, porch is locked as is the inner door. No one is getting the chance to knock / ring :)

I have a child and live in a street with lots of other young families with little kids, we all knocked each others doors pretty much. We didnt have anybody under the age of about 9 come to the door, and all with parents and younger brother / sisters.

Took my lad round as well of course. Would be rude to knock their door and not answer ours.

Cant be bothered answering the door past 7 when the little kids have gone bed mind.

We saw some kinds in our cul-de-sac earlier but they only seemed to be calling at certain houses. Either they had pre-arranged to go to people they knew or were only calling at houses with some sort of decorations up. We would have answered though as we'd got some sweets to give out. Guess I'll have to eat them myself :)

Usually I buy some to give out but this year there hasn't been one single person at the door!

I do think it's a good 'rule' that you only go where there is some sort of decoration outside :)

or the lights are on and the curtains open.

Closed curtains + all lights off means you know they arent interested.

We had some little kids and a group of chavs in there teens, gave the chavs the left over out of date sweets from last Christmas ;)

My neighbor had a firework lit under his car for opening the door to say no, obviously the ****s shouldn't of done it but I dunno why he couldn't just ignore the door. He even did it to the little kids with parents so I lost a little sympathy

How's he meant to know that it's not a legitimate caller? I had a mate pop round unexpectedly earlier, would have been a mite rude if I'd ignored the door!
