Did anyone else's HTC Desire turn itself on at 3am this morning to change the clock?

Really weird. I shutdown my Desire last night before going to sleep and then it woke itself up at 3am this morning and reset the clock. I know it was exactly at 3am as it woke me up with the R2D2 boot sound that is on the Leedroid Rom.

I know the phone was definitely off last night as I always try to wake it up by pressing the trackball just in case I get battery drain over night or get woken up with text messages from drunken mates!

Did this happen to anyone else?

Weirdest thing I've heard, you turn your phone off every night? Re: mates, put phone on silent? Disable the antenna? Re: battery, does it really drain that much that it'll die over night?

+1

I just set my mobile phone to airplane mode or to silent if i don't want any calls..

I just use an app called Bedside which silences the phone but enables a whitelist to allow the phone to ring for calls or messages from certain numbers in case of emergency.

Same here... had me doubting myself this morning when at text came through as I thought "hmmm, I'm sure I turned that off last night". Glad to see I'm not losing my mind. :)

My Hero didnt, but then again it was switched on as I wanted to watch the clock go from 1:59 to 1:00. Yes I have too much free time.

I was impressed last night when I set my alarm for this morning.

00:33am and set the alarm for 07:55. The popup message said "This alarm is set 8 hours and 22 minutes from now."

I turn my phone off when im asleep at night because I dont want to recieve any calls when im sleeping. So why leave it switched on at all? I find I get 2 days out of my Desire sometimes doing this, and its more of a struggle to do that leaving it on (even though it does only use a few % batt over night)... getting 2 days out of a smart phone is a fine line :D

Why not just plug it in at night? Then you don't have to be conservative in phone usage throughout the day.

I do, every 2 days.. Sometimes every day if ive used it a lot. Your missing the main point I made though.. if someone doesnt want to recieve any calls while they are sleeping why not switch it off? Turning it off doesnt take much longer than putting it in airplane mode, and is it really that bad waiting for it to boot up in the morning :D

Andorid phones seem to need a reboot every so often anyway it seems, so this does that for you :D

This thread is so flipping typical, literally no one answering the question just going off on tangents about rubbish.

This post included.

Quite :p

That's fine, but even if you do turn it off, its surely worth plugging in to charge. Although, some phones do automatically turn on if you do this.

Well I believe the more often you charge a battery the shorter its life span, so if Ive got more than 50% left at he end of the day I tend not to put it on charge that night. If im below 50% I plug the sucker in ;)

Phones seem to be weird with their auto correcting time.

My San Francisco got to 00:59 as usual, then stayed there for an hour!

Most roundabout way ever of changing the time.
