Do you believe in Life after Death.

repeating lies.

Really?. Rather than cluttering textbooks and the public’s imagination with statements about things for which no objective evidence exists, wouldn’t it be better to admit that the big bang is faulty? Of course. But big bang theorists want to maintain their reputations, careers, and worldview. If the big bang is discarded, only one credible explanation remains for the origin of the universe and everything in it. That thought sends shudders down the spines of many evolutionists.

Since when can an invisible ghost that uttered words, waved his magic wand around and everything spontaneously appeared be called 'credible'?

We don't know the answers and that makes us uncomfortable. We want an explanation and believe in it, no matter how fantastically daft it might sound. Today people reach to Allah and God. Before that it was the sun and moon. There will be new fantasies and gods in the future.

Let it be, we don't know. Nobody knows. NOBODY, knows. If you think you do, forget about it, you don't. The only reason you'll make a post and promote Allah and the principles Koran is because of your background. The same goes for God and the bible. Born elsewhere, and you'll be mocking it along with the rest of them. How fantastically arrogant to think that your 'born into' religion explains all.

Quote obscure, non-relevant passages from chosen books all you want. In the end the words are empty, meaningless and hollow. The only thing that is real, is history and what's happening right now. You don't know about the future, you don't know what happens after death. Not a person in history ever existed, nor does a person exists today, knows what will happen after death. And that really is all there is to say about that.

Life after death - Yes!!!!!!

And don't listen to anyone who says otherwise.

Evidence? Real proof? Not just a concoction of your usual half-baked theories and fantasies because you're impressionable.

Evidence please. Even one, tiny shred of real evidence would please me to no end. You make a claim, back it up.

Again, evidence please.

Thought as much.

This is an arguement no one can win, do i believe in an after life, yes- without a shadow of a doubt for myself... but do i believe in science and the big bang theory etc, yes very much so so the two things dont have to be mutualy exclusive, at the end of the day no one knows till they die so how can anyone tell anyone else what to believe?

If you live your life not believing in God, you die it turns out God exists then you suffer for that (many religions have not so nice consequences for unbelievers).

A) a Deity would know what you are felling, so is pointless going through the motions and not believing.
B) Most religions are almost certainly wrong about hell (from a Christian/bible standpoint)

Open his mind to the 'something' you believe in after death? I'm sure of someone's mind to be open the word 'something' needs to be expanded on.

Open your mind on the Eastern Bunny a little. There's 'something' in it since everyone knows him.

I shall rephrase...

Try adopting a different thought pattern in order to understand the viewpoint of others. I am in no way advocating that anyone blindly follows what has been said by another, but simply ask that some people try on a different pair of shoes to try and gauge at least where others stand on issues.

I used the word something as a place holder. When I have a definitive answer I'll get back to you. Until then, my beliefs (and many others) will state that there may be something after death. If you cannot understand this lexical choice then I may suggest going back to reading comprehensions so that you may begin to learn methods of interpreting speech.

In any case, my use of the word something clearly demonstrates an open mind. It shows that I have no single belief and have yet to reach a conclusion on this topic. Present me with evidence towards a case and I will amend my position.

I apologise if this comes across as inflammatory, as it isn't intended as such.
:p

Not really, we are animals. Made up of the same materials as a dog, fish or wasp. As much as I like watching them I don't really believe my Neon Tetra's have an immortal soul. Consequently why should we? After all we all came from the same place, just our eveolution differed millions of years ago.

Probably nothing.. but you never know, agnostic right?

Eugh, get off the fence!!! :p

Well said.

When you die, you go to the same place where you were before you were born

It's not really difficult to understand

No there's not. You choose to see things and interpret them in a way that you prefer. You have no real evidence. End of.

You're quite aggressive about this. Is there any particular reason why?

Thanks to Magick for his video, here's another which I was going to post along the same lines.

As to the evidence you speak of, there are thousands of years worth of reports of the afterlife. Thousands of years of human experience, literature, religion, NDEs, seances etc all which show there is life beyond death. What you are doing is choosing to discount them because your few years on the planet are more valid to you than centuries of human discovery. You do need to open your mind slightly and consider looking at things from other angles.

You are spouting rubbish about something you clearly know nothing about. Why you are flipping between the big bang and evolution is anyones guess, but I assume it's because you are grouping the two together into the 'anti-god squad' when niether belong there, and even then the two remains loosely linked by being 'scientific theories'.

Evolution only suggests a literal interpretation of genesis is false and that there was no involvement of a supreme being to create a diversity of life forms. That's it. It says nothing about the existance of a supreme being or the creation of the universe.

I know many evolutionists that are theists. I'm an evolutionist and I'm agnostic. I know some evolutionists that are athiests.

As for no objective evidence... good grief.

I firmly believe in life after death. I cannot imagine not existing in some sense even if I couldn't consciously acknowledge it. The thing is, when we die no one will ever know whether there is life after death because if there isn't then we won't be around to acknowledge that and if there is we most likely won't be able to tell the rest of our fellow humans that there is. Can any of you imagine not existing? I highly doubt it as we I don't think humans can not be consciously thinking all the time about something unless we are in a coma or in a dream and even in a dream we can still think to some degree. At least I can in my dreams.

I also believe that our minds are metaphysical and they are not in our bodies. That our body is a shell that our minds control or inhabit for as long as the body lives. And because we know that energy cannot be created or destroyed this energy that is our minds has to go somewhere and why should it cease existing because our body does not function any more?

To be honest I can't comprehend how anyone can simply say "We die, it's the end, we rot in the ground" without some good, deep, philosophical thought about it. It just isn't a possibility I can even really think about.

That's precisely it. As you have a connection with your body and your mind, you also do with your soul. You have connections with the Ib [Egyptian] and your Sancita [Sanskrit] and have worked your way through millions of incarnations to be human, the pinnacle of physical existence whereby your main 'job' is to return to the Absolute from where you came. Being human you have the best means of doing that.

The reasons why the Hindus, the Sumerians and the Egyptians all firmly believed in an afterlife was because of their intense and constant connection with spirituality, the dead and the afterlife itself. These days our visions have got muddied by modern-day thinking and stresses whereby for a lot of that has faded into the background or become ridiculed. Society has evolved to the point where money and greed are more important than ever as the financial crises showed.

Hamilton's book "Is Survival A Fact?" details her discussions with the dead and their own realisations of life beyond death.

That, as well as everything else you have posted in this thread is a total load of nonsense.
