I needses some new Sci Fi

Saw Pandorum a couple days ago on TV, it reminded me that I haven't been watching enough sci-fi recently

Going slightly off-topic for a sec here, has anyone noticed how often the film critics get reviews of sci fi films so inexplicably wrong? They love Predators (rubbish), and yet the half-decent sci fi gets slated. Anyway, back on topic...

I'm looking for anything at the level of "decent" or better; doesn't have to the be the best film you've ever seen. Like everyone else on this planet, I've seen Aliens (

), so I'm looking primarily for suggestions for recent sci fi (anything past roughly 2005 or so, unless it's one of those that slipped under the radar and nobody knows about).

So please, let the suggestions commence!

Does it have to be film or can we suggest series also?

If so The Event is getting quite good

Sci Fi has done a dissapearing act, never mind decent stuff

Two good ones mentioned above, Star Trek is quite good, you dont have to be a fan of the TV stuff (i'm not) but I enjoyed the film

Don't really have the inclination to get into a series :/ Even the really good series run out of ideas eventually. I'd rather stick to films if that's OK

I hope they stop trying to resurrect ST. The new one was passable, but they'll never re-live the glory days

Outland wasn't bad, you know

I was expecting B-movie hamminess but Mr Connery made it enjoyable. From 1981 tho

So far of the ones suggested there are two I haven't yet seen: Moon and Inception.

I've been watching Farscape on FX, its in the third series at the moment but its on every day and I think they're going to just repeat it forever.

Off topic again, but I was looking for a place to stream (legal) or download (legal) any of these films, and haven't found anything so far.
