Shoplifting? Moral objection, or just scared of being nicked?

you do realise nearly every shop accepts the fact that they will lose *** due to theft and adjust the prices to compensate?

I've already said, even if you endgame is good, the act of stealing is still wrong.

There is no moral justifications for stealing. Either from an evil corporation that uses child labour or stealing from a charity, stealing is wrong, people who try to justify things are deluded. These things are black and white. Even though it might be "for the greator good", it doesnt make it right.

If you think the act of stealing is made right because of your intentions, then you are deluded.

...

They dont take it, you pax tax. Feel free to leave the country, and live on an island somewhere. It is good.

I'll BRB later..

So? You can move your shop to an island somewhere where there are no shoplifters.

You can should just move to an island with no other people to avoid being burgled too.

If you get mugged it's your own fault, you were free not to walk in the dodgy neighbourhood.

To infinity.

People are so incredibly nonchalant in their belief in government as a higher power. I'm pretty sure you can't see your own contradictions, and will just ignore this completely.

So, which one is it? Government = God, thus their word is ALWAYS right, so therefore if they say they are not stealing they are not stealing (This is my bet, it's quite common. Whenever the government commits an act, even if it's identical to what someone else could do as an individual, it's not the same legally because the government says so, and people have faith in government.);

or

The intentions of the government make it alright, as well as the fact that an underlying majority supports the stealing and persecution of the minority.

or

You're just a hipocritical tool.

sodding categorical moral imperative.

I nicked a bouncy ball (one of those 10p jobbies) once when i was about 5 and staying at my Nan's, I told her when I was outside the shop and she marched me back in there and made me apologise to the shopkeeper and return the ball. Oh the shame :s

So while I can say I wouldn't maybe it's actually from a learned response from what happened when I was a nipper.

What so if theft wasn't immoral or against the law would i do it ? yes of course.
Why because i wouldn't have been conditioned by laws that there was anything wrong with it. I wouldn't know any different.

Why wouldn't you do it if it was 100% certain to be free. You would never have to work again and could live a life of complete luxury that only Billionaires could aspire to.

People that say no, are either lying or mental.

All hypothetically ofc.

I bet more people would do it (including some here than said they would not) than would. Human nature.

Of course I wouldn't. Stealing is bad, mkay?

Dose changing the labels round at Tesco before using the self service tills count as stealing? Or scanning all bakery items as "bread roll"?

unless of course you are totally mental and are actually swapping the labels for more expensive items... but im sure changing the label even for a more expensive one has got to be some sort of fraud??

:o

Then no, I wouldn't dream of steal a thing :)

Sometimes "mistakes" can happen. I'm sure the regular checkout assistants get training. Maybe they should offer it to all their customers.

I once shoplifted almost £200 worth of Kitchenwares from a DIY Superstore completely accidentally! I was buying everything near as damn it for a Kitchen, it was awkward as hell walking around carrying the stuff so I put everything inside my spanking new Pedal Bin as it made carrying just one thing much easier...

I made absolutely no secret of the fact I was putting everything in the bin, Staff there were helping me find stuff and talking to me as I was doing it! When I got to the till I was just completely shell-shocked when the completely bored and dis-interested girl asked me for £14.99 for just the bin...So I paid it and was about to say something when she started serving the next customer, I was WTF do I do now? So I walked out expecting every alarm in the whole world to go off but nothing happened. Couldn't believe how easy it was to do!
