Hi Forum,

Ive got 6gb for my Asus P6X58D-E Intel,

Will I notice any real performance with adding another 6gb of the same ram

Its corsair CMP6GX3M3A1600C8
 
Only if you do a lot of intensive video/photo editing, rendering or stuff like that.

Apart from that not really no. Also if you fill up all the memory slots it will be harder to overclock, if u intend to overclock that is.

I was going to overclock and It will just be for gaming,

i encode a lot of blurays on my i7 920 do u think 12gb would be beneficial to this setup? i have 6gb of patriot ( blue) at the mo if not is it worth changing it to higher rated mem (2000mhz)

As with all encoding it's CPU intensive, so the main brunt of the work is CPU based ... memory (quantity) makes little difference. IF your rendering ... then yes ...memory is the kingpin :)
