laptop/notebook bean trays

Does anybody use these? If you do, how have you found them?

I have an offer for one of these and am thinking whether to pick it up. I am looking at one with the cushion thing at the bottom which sounds good, but also a lamp as well which I'm not so sure about.
 
If you mean the heat mats? My dad got one from ikea which has the cushion bottom. Very good actually the laptop heats up very quickly and becomes uncomfortable to use when sitting on your lap. With the heat mat it keeps your body nice and cool :)
 
Aye, they're sort of like that. However they have a little built in USB led lamp and sometimes a cup holder as well. Bit of a gimmick really, not worth £10 or so.
 
I bought one of the Ikea ones ages ago.
I don't even use the part, I just use the plastic tray thats on top. Great purchase tbh
 
I bought my granny one of them years ago to set her dinner on :/

It was just a tray with a cushion and cost about £4
 
My gf has a few of these, usually used for dinners (she lives with her granparents).

Most of my friends seem like they could do with one, their laptops get stupidly hot, I don't understand it! Mine stays cool the whole time, spose it is a little more expensive though.
