How can I transfer a game to a new Steam account?

As per the title. I want to transfer a game I purchased on one Steam account onto another. Well, more than one game actually.
 
Yep, once a game is purchased for one account it is tied to that account indefinitely.. You can however "Gift" the game (when making the purchase) to your other account. EDIT: Also it's against Steam's EULA to sell accounts.
 
Would a politely worded email asking Valve to change the games from one account to another account (I guess under the same Surname) be possible? Blizzard allow Character transfers from one account to another as long as the account surnames match.
 
They will move games over to another account of you provide them with proof of purchase, or that's how it used to be.
 
Steam should introduce 'lending' i.e. give a friend a license for a set amount of time. Like the amazon kindle now allowing sharing of ebooks.
 
I've got loads of games on Steam I don't play anymore or didn't like within five mins of playing, some of them still retail quite highly too, would love a feature to allow me to sell them on or even gift them to someone else, they're just wasting away in my list doing nothing atm.

What do you reckon, any chance Steam will implement this feature?

Nah, not a chance..........sadly :(

Edit: I suppose one way to do it would be to buy each game on a different account, then when you're finished just move the account on, as it were.

Stops game swapping. I've often thought that a couple of games I've got my gf's lad would like to play... but even though I installed steam to his PC, he can't play them, so I just logged him on with my account, as we're all in the same house and he played them when I wasn't using Steam.... Guess its not technically allowed but only way I could allow him to play some of the games I’ve got on Steam..

Just meant he couldn't get his own achievements in Metro 2033, or couldn't work out how to wipe them and start again... He's a teenager, that sort of stuff appeals to him..

Batman Arkham for example was easy as this used GFWL, so linked to Steam as I purchased on Steam, fired up the game and he used his xbox live account to play the game, could earn his own gamer points etc...

Metro 2033 however, he was stuck with my saves and achievements as it has cloud saves, we couldn't work out how to remove the achievements... Oh well.

Same as Portal and Half Life 2. He’s played them all using my account but stuck with what I’ve already earned. Be nice to have a way of linking secondary accounts, or if that’s possible not worked it out..
