Where to buy skate shoes for a sensible price?

Hey all.

My skateboard shoes are getting holes in the soles. I don't skateboard anymore but find the shoes comfy and want some more.
However, I see a decent pair in the shops here and am about to buy them until I see an £80 price tag. No way should a bloke spend that on shoes. Ever.
I look online and find them for $55 in the US, so less than half the price. (Please bear in mind this was pre-recession!).


So I ask OCUK: Where do you get your skate shoes from? If from the US, what hidden charges do you get?

when i bought them for riding i would just bend over and take the high pricetag. was always worth it considering how long they last compared to the alternatives

This, I got a pair of Etnies lo-cut II's for about 25 quid last week instead of 40-50 odd. I've had several pairs off there from es-DVS and never been disapointed. I usually use rollersnakes to find a trainer I like, then bay it for cheaper prices.

Get up to TKMaxxxxxx, the ones round here have Etnies, DC, Animal, O'Neill etc for around £20-£30, the locals won't touch them if they aint got the swoosh
