**** me thats harsh hes in a wheel chair, if he likes it its all good surely?

I don't see any reason to treat someone differently because they're in a wheelchair, not in this sense. If I became disabled, I wouldn't want people treading eggshells around me in case they might offend me.

Wheelchair or not, the car looks ridiculous :p

I don't think the OP would want everyone to say "wikkid mate!" just because we know he has a disability. Motors is an equal opportunities employer, regardless of age, race, religion or disability; if you drive a zafira with neons, you WILL get ripped into :D

Yea ok maybe not the lights and stereo, but hes disabled, oh i dunno not enough coffee.

like Fox said, a wheelchair doesn't make you any different taste wise... hell if anyone else had posted this you would not of been the same

stop trying to be so PC ;)

Believe me PC'ness is not my strong point, however i do have a soft spot for disabled people.

This is one case where nobody complains about the car itself :)

a lot don't, I know a fair few family / friends ....maybe a larger percentage do ?

I know one thing for sure... IMO, if you do work you shouldn't be able to claim motability

What in the name of god is wrong with you? What about helping people with disabilities get to work? I'd sooner take away crotch rockets from people with no common sense than motability cars from people in wheelchairs

Now why is that? Id rather see my tax going to help a disabled person than some **** with 12 kids and a ****er husband cant be arsed get a job, wouldnt you?

ehhh ?, ok say for example, I fall off bike, end up in wheelchair ? (quite possible)

I could still perform my day job and earn a good income, I wouldn't expect state to provide transport for nothing (or little)... but they would, and I would accept it of course.

It's just wrong, thats my opinion, I'm entitled to it

And what about all those people who were unfortunate enough to be disabled BEFORE earning any capital with which to buy and manitain a reliable form of transport for getting to work?

How do they get to work?

Stop being a douche.

If they work I wouldn't like it to go to either ...if you work you shouldn't get a bean from the state

The whole country has gone to pot

Maybe some kind of temporary transport, until they have the means, not a new car every X amount of years forever

Stop the rolleyes thing, you opinion is just that, yours... I have mine dude! :)

edit: I daily see motability cars in tesco in the disabled bays with the occupants practicaly running in for shopping... there are problems with the system, don't say you haven't noticed ?.

some people are needy, sure help them short term if possible, some are not

If you don't need it then don't claim it, your conscience would be clear.

But what if you didn't have a car because you couldn't afford to run one or didnt need one and something happens - meaning you can't get to work. That person could either quit their job and claim full benefits or take a motability car and carry on working. You seem to think your thoughts and situations are the only valid ones, it comes across in many of your posts - try opening your eyes a bit.

I've just started working for a company where jobs, welfare and benefits are our bread and butter, so it's a subject I could rant about quite happily, but now is neither then time or the place

Nothing wrong with a rant, get it out :)

Flukester do you have ANY idea how the system works? I suspect not.

Motability simply replaces existing higher rate disability living allowance. It doesnt cost us more.

I have reservations as to how the scheme works but to begrudge people getting it full stop!?
