Not sure mate, it's a bug with the cacti physics that exploits the fact that it can't grow next to a block, hence when the cacti grows from 1 height to 2 it auto drops the new cacti block. Tree's aren't restricted like that as far as I know so would grow up between the glass and if you put a block above it would grow right up to the block.

Minecraft - World / Player Save Issues

We've had a number of reports that worlds and player information are not always being saved correctly, particularly around restarts. This seems to be a new issue caused by the Halloween update.

To help combat this issue we have done some more enhancements to our Minecraft admin plugin as well as some changes to Clanforge. These enhancements try to workaround the bug in the server so should help improve the reliability of saves your worlds and players inventories when dealing with server restarts. You will notice that all players will now be kicked from the server prior to server restarts.

Are you going to be able to publish a message on the server before the restart Or is this done by the host automatically? :)
 
Just because I may have blown your house up on your server doesnt mean I'll do it again, besides those TNT windows looked good until I hit them with a shovel.
 
I just hope my connection sorts itself out...i've tried re-installing java fully....i've opened up the ports manually on my router...i've downloaded a program that does that for you as well! I've always allowed the game as an exception in the firewall, i've also added the two exceptions for the game seperately also!

The only other thing i can think of doing is deleting the entire minecraft folder and starting again
 
Server 2 is playing up big time today, logon fine at 8.40am this morning but at 10.30am it would not let me logon nor restart the server or use live control sent ticket to host.

Managed to logon and you wanted snow Tefal, well theres snow now on server 2 aswell as the world cut in half in loads of places with mass of water.

Have ask host to restore world map back to before 8.30 am this today.

oh noes, my work on the cacti farm this morning will be gone :( It was working fine to about half 9 so try a rollback to there if you can.

Shame you cant host somewhere else...or better yet, just host it in an office or something :p
