Last I checked it only worked if you changed your phones language to US English. Vlingo Voice is a very good alternative to Google voice search that offers the feature, check that out too.
 
I can confirm Vodafone did have the phone! I recieved mine today :) Looks friggin sweet, cant wait to switch it on

I first ordered last wednesday, they said it would be with me Monday, didnt turn up, I phoned them, they said they wouldnt have any in stock and didnt know when they were coming in, as did other on this forum.

I then phoned back up and kicked up a big fuss, and after being told they didnt have any in stock, the guy then changed his mind and told me there were 500 in stock and that the phone would be with me the next day, which was true it just arrived.

A few people on the forums tried to ring Vodafone but were still being told they had none in stock so they wanted me to post on here to notify them weather or not I recieved one to confirm they had some in stock, which is true, they do.
 
Ok done my first full day battery test. Honestly its not THAT bad. Dont get me wrong if you are the type of person who does not want to have to charge a phone everey night you should not be looking at smartphones

Ok so i unplug at 7.30AM ihave Wifi switched off and check my emails and refresh FB sparingly until about 10 Am.

I then send about 5 texts a few emails and make a 5 minute phone call. I also streamed a one hour podcast using 3G to my phone. Id say my phone was used quite frequently.

At home by 5.30 with 40% battery. That will last me until Midnight easy now. Thats not too bad at all. The screen was 65% usage of my battery life so far

FYI i have

Weather sync every 4 hours
Face book sync - manual refresh
News- manual
Gmail-push
any news stype widgets are set to manual or just once a day

I have screen on 100% brightness Wifi turned off while at work and also GPRS off

Monday morning I was told Id have the HD in 5 days, I know its only Thursday but Ive received no email update.

I cant see it coming this week :(

Originally had one ordered on play but they don't have stock yet so rang clove and they sent one out today :)

I currently have a hero and whilst its nice its slow. The hd is too big for me and the normal desire has the older architecture so the z is the logical choice, plus a hardware keyboard can't do any harm.

Play are actually showing the Z in stock right this moment, so you likely would have gotten it tomorrow regardless.

I can confirm Vodafone have Stock. I called yesterday. Threatened to cancel my order. That was around 12ish. 6hrs later I get a dispatch email. Just got in and my Desire HD is now charging.

Haha, ah well. Clove seem a lot more professional to deal with anyways. I rang play this morning and got told they had no stock in and didnt know when i would be turning up whereas clove said they had them ready for immediate dispatch.
 
Posting this from my very sexy desire Hd, honestly what a piece of kit. Arrived today, was at work but parcel force sent it to my local depot. Zero branding on the vf handset...no stickers, no visible custom firmware, retail box etc.

This is a formidable device :).
