Alright lads, had my Specialized 2010 Rockhopper SL nicked from my flat this week.

Hoping that you savvy bike lot can keep an eye out for it appearing on any forums/ebay in case there trying to offload it online. Was nicked from Paisley near Glasgow so would probably be for sale from Central Scotland if it appears at all.

Piccy of my bike

They took my accessory kit which was attached to the saddle too, had the usual multi tool and spare tube and tyre levers etc.

damn b******s, did you do anything to the bike to make it look different, bottle holders, pump, anything you can think of that is different to the stock bike.

It had a mini-pump strapped to the upright frame post and a specialized saddle bag which hung underneath the saddle. Beyond that it's stock.

I'll say to the guys at the other shop we have in cathcart. It's unreal how many people ask if we buy second hand bikes:(

Also would be a good shout to check out the cash convertors etc in town.

Frame number is WUD092178139E

Alerted the local bike shops in Paisley and the police are going to check the pawn shops/cash converters so fingers crossed they turn something up

I'm suprised the police showed even the slightest bit of interest in it.

When i had my custom built Kona Chute and my Giant TCR carbon stolen from my garage the Kona turned up on eBay a week later, I informed them and they weren't interested at all. Yet when i caught some kid riding my road bike through town they were more interested if he'd sustained any injuries while I was getting my bike back.

Id be suprised if they look in any of the shops, you'd be better having a look yourself.

This +1. UNfortunately it wouldn't be their highest priority and what with other work etc and the demands placed on them it may be some time before they get chance to trawl all the shops.

Surprised they weren't interested in the ebay find though. Should just be a case of requesting subscriber/ip details, though that takes some time, then if possible tracing the person and arrest. Paypal/Ebay are normally quite helpfull too.

If I attended that call in town mate you'd have a pat on the back and boyo would be courtesy of the local police for aslong as I could inconvenience him.

Yup identical, I spotted that one but it's missing the pump attached to the upright post and saddlebag.

It's also in Guildford so they'd be doing well to get it there so quick. But you never know!

The cops actually seem pretty decent, they called round tonight to pick up some pictures of various bits and bobs. Said they'd been round the local cash converters etc and someone had tried to sell my phone and been refused as they couldn't prove it was theirs.

Surprise surprise, they only keep CCTV for 24hrs and the best description they could give was "short and female"

Holy thread revival!

Got a call from the police this afternoon, saying they had recovered my bike and arrested the 17 year old who was riding it. This was after I'd seen the little scrote cycling about nearby round christmas. The police were quite chuffed and were going to make sure at the very least he got done for resetting/handling stolen goods but were going to rush his finger prints to see if they matched the ones from the break-in so they could do him for house breaking too.

Frames ok but tyres, brakes and gears seem a bit screwed. Just got a cheque from the insurance a few weeks ago too so going to need to phone them on Monday to see if they have already written it off or if they'll want to repair it.

Ive had 3 bikes stolen, all 3 times they were right under cameras and locked with expensive locks. Every time they used bolt croppers and the police didnt care and simply gave me a reference slip to show for insurance (which i didnt have). In short, I feel ur annoyance. Hope your future bikes dont suffer the same fate....

To honest mate, I wouldn't tell them anything ;)
