Is there a splitter cable for USB connector to the motherboard?

I don't mean a splitter for the port, but rather, the part that plugs into the motherboard. I just bought an internal USB 2.0 memory card reader and to use it, I have to unplug the front USB ports which I do not want to do. I was wondering if there is a splitter available (one that is readily available and I do not have to hack) and what is the name/price of it.

nope 2 devices cannot share the same usb header as far as i know, it would lead to all kinds of conflicts.

what motherboard are you using that only has 1 usb header on it ?

okay thanks for getting back to me, but that mean i would have to get an usb card then which would take another slot out, damn why they only put 2 port on the board.

*edit - never mind i just remembered the haf has 4 front usb's

You actually have 4 USB ports (2 lots of 2)

i have two on the motherboard and i have one port which i mod to have my usb tv tuner built in and the other one is for my front bay which has four usb ports which i can only use two, i need a memory card reader so i have to loose both unless i can mod it to support more, dont like external device looks messy

Afraid the only way is to mod yourself an internal hub, you can buy the plugs on eBay, and get the soldering iron out. Or, you could route an external cable into the case and terminate it with a 10 pin header.

I had the same problem with my motherboard only having 2 internal usb headers, the case used 2 headers (1 internal = 2 external usb) and my fan controller also used one. For a while I couldn't use half of the front usb's until I brought a "NZXT Internal USB Expansion Port" They can be quite hard to get hold of but they plug into an internal header and molex and provide 2 internal and 1 external. Think it was about £15 or so. Hope it Helps
