Loyal Forum Members Delivery Petition

as we know, the free delivery for loyal forum members is only available to UK mainland addresses.

while anyone from just outside (highlands, northern ireland, channel islands, or sheppy)
ends up paying sometimes 15.50 for one item.

So how about a compromise at least? say, a Voucher Code for a set amount off per order to cover a percentage of the delivery price, for loyal members?

Anyone who would like to see this happen, sign in!

edit: of course I can't do it, but i have asked and got told to "beat it, chimp" but maybe if a good few of us ask...

Thanks.

Sadly, there is a significant price difference on OCUK's side for delivery to non-mainland addresses. Besides that, I believe they have negotiated a special deal with DPD regarding the free delivery option.

It's a nice idea, but realistically they'd probably only be able to give you about 50p off, and not only would it be expensive to implement, the issues behind voucher codes- such as them being spread around the net- are monstrous.

I'm sure we'd all be better off if OCUK simply left it and kept their prices at the low levels that they currently are- I've checked, and its competitors are generally more expensive, and don't provide the same level of service.

As a statement of opinion (I won't endorse an petition):

To me it is not fair that loyal forum members who benefit from free delivery must be from mainland UK. However I understand that the cost of shipping to the regions the OP mentions is far greater than inland.

I believe a compromise, possibly in the form of a shipping discount, can be found.

To be fair I did get free delivery through Royal Mail when I ordered my Samsung F4 last month. It would only be practical to do free delivery on smaller, lower value items that could be sent via RM for people not living on the mainland.

It depends on the weight/size of the item, my F3 hdd came free, other items such as my case, mobo and gpu's were charged. But, tbf ive always found ocuk's delivery charges to be very good, one other etailer who shall oviously remain unnamed, charged £13.00 delivery for two £13.00 fans i purchased. Hardly a weighty package.

It could be worse, you should try getting a small cable delivered to Ireland.
Its £1.90 to mainland uk but its £10.67 to Ireland.

I've have had to get a friend in UK to order a small cable for me and post it over for about £1.

I do understand larger items costing more for delivery but an envelope with no weight in it shouldn't be that price.

i've had this too.

What annoys me is that some other etailers don't hit you up for 15.50 for the same size package to the same address, but some items cost more than here.
As it turns out, the prices balance out and almost match each other, so i end up only buying from ocuk because i go on the forums but not feeling the benefit of the lower prices.

of course, ocuk's isn't the worst delivery i've seen, one etailer (have a break, have a kitkat-tek) let me put through my order then phoned me the next day asking for £20 ON TOP of the 6.50 they had already taken, i told him to "{Copulate} Off" and had him cancel the order, they then saw fit to hold the money in debit-card-reserve for a month.

It just annoys me that places charge so much to deliver here, since i've had couriers move whole computers over the water for me for a tenner (hermes) and i can post stuff i sell on bumbleBeeBay or the members market for less than 3 quid (chicken-royale mail).

maybe an easterly cross-wind slows them down on the ex-mainland journey, causing drag and higher fuel consumption and longer man-hours....?

wouldn't be so bad if i was actually irish, but am not, don't even own a leprechaun..
