Do i hate it, yes with a vengance.
My old boss trotted out a line "when you assume you make an ass out of you and me", well guess what we all knew who the ass was that day. Are there any office talk phrases you hate?

Management speak - don't you just hate it? Emphatically yes, judging by readers' responses to writer Lucy Kellaway's campaign against office jargon. Here, we list 50 of the best worst examples.

1. "When I worked for Verizon, I found the phrase going forward to be more sinister than annoying. When used by my boss - sorry, "team leader" - it was understood to mean that the topic of conversation was at an end and not be discussed again."

My boss uses "let's get our ducks in a row" and "let's get our bricks in the wall"

Somtimes he combines them into "lets get our ducks lined up in a wall" which I have no idea what he's talking about.

I hate the word 'source'.

'We'll have to source a new coffee supplier'
'I've sourced a new contracting supplier and need your feedback on their performance'

I'm pretty sure some of these idiots read Management for Dummies and try to come off sounding 'smart' by using buzzwords. Just shut up and speak like a normal person. If you're an idiot, it's going to shine through sooner rather than later. All the management buzzwords in the world won't help you.

"We need to be thought leaders" i.e. we tell people what to think and if they think anything different they are wrong. Ugh.

I need you to delegate your time for the next two hours playing Counter Strike: Source...

...oh wait :(

;) :D

Blue sky thinking - who the hell coined that one up!

Some others from my younger days

Time to lean time to clean.....
Pre planning and preparation prevents **** poor performance :rolleyes:
Shine like a star

Bourne Leisure sure as hell loved there little sayings.

With our management they use the term "Have we all bought into this" or "We will all have to buy into this for it to work"

AHHHH

My boss is always saying "let's suck it and see"... I hate that.

One of his other favourites is "They can show us the river but they can't make us drink" :o
