My TV has put itself on standby, and won't go off it.

Sonya, my telly, has decided to put itself on standby.

I lost the remote years ago but have never had a problem as you just press the big button to turn it on and off again to turn it off. However, yesterday I turned it on but instead of coming up with a channel the red light on the standby light came on. Pressing a change channel button on the telly will make it flash up and make that noise that suggests the picture is coming but it then goes back to standby.

I've had it unplugged all night but that hasn't worked. Any ideas on how I can watch TV? I don't want to be forced to go into the outside World! :eek:
 
Buy a new remote, program a universal remote to at least see if it will come on.

Sounds broken though.

Don't worry about it mate its probably just that time of month.She will probably be back to her normal self in a couple of days if you buy her something... like a new remote perhaps?
