looks like this one comes with lucid hydra too. who are ECS? i haven't even heard of them.

ECS have been around for years but they've always been one of the "cheap" brands

if I remember correctly it all got a bit ropey a few years back & they withdrew from the UK market for a while.
 
just did a google search, their boards seem quite dull and like you say a bit on the cheap side both in price and features. looks like the above board is a bit different has character to it and lots of promising features the spec on the box looks quite good!
 
if this is their first stab at the performance market though I'd be hesitant to buy one
 
According to wiki ECS are a big fish up there with Asus, Gigabyte & MSI... wonder what took them so long to get in the enthusiast motherboard market.
 
Nice! They do a nice looking black and white P55 mobo too. I'm really not one for PCB bling normally, but I really can't help but want one inside a white NZXT Phantom case. Mmmmm Portal/Stormtrooper chic :)
 
Didn't ECS buy out Abit, who were a major enthusiast board manufacturer (better than Asus)?

Speaking of motherboard brands gone MIA, whatever happened to EPoX? Had a cracking nforce2 board from them years ago.
 
Yes Abit, Epox, DFI were my boards of choice when Athlon XP Thoroughbred was the CPU to buy.
