i will be going to a party tomorrow at a mates house were we have a little competition for who can get the biggest firework :p

heres mine.

£205 worth got down to £140, 2 rockets in the top box and 2 107 shot barrages in the bottom box.

never seen a rocket come in a metal cage with gloves supplied.

they are rockets, the sticks have a hinge so they can be folded in half to make for smaller packaging, they make very loud bang an big star burst
 
Pity you can't get mortars anymore. 6" mortars were awesome.
Add a bunch of people who all brought at least 20 quids worth of rockets each, and the guy who organised it all every year, lashing out on 500 quids worth of fireworks... we always had an impressive evening, even if it did mean tramping out to a field somewhere.
 
Wanted to buy some decent stuff this year, but as off work, couldn't afford it.
so just some sainsburys stuff. Everyone else usually brings some as well.

Just as important is the much. Heres a warming chilli 1.5kilo of mince :), just needs to simmer away for a few hours. Got sausages and jacket potatoes as well, chilli odgs yay. Oh and pumpkins to turn into pumpkin fritters, dusted with cinnamon sugar. Bit like doughnuts.

empty beer can with a splash of paraffin in it, upright on the bonfire = lovely flaming fountain :D
recommend standing well back, just to be sure.
 
absolute fireworks make some good fireworks, did you ever get those cherry bombs in this country, we used to have this firework shop in sa where we could buy all sorts of stuff. They were green with a long fuse that would come rapped around it and they would blow up a coke can or anything you put it in. What i like to do on fire works night is make a fire usually in my barbecue and then have a few beers and think about burning down parliament in remembrance of past heroes and all :D
