Having just spent the better part of an hour getting this thing attached, I switch it on and the damn noise is louder than the stock cooler (at idle)!
I see that the people who make it (GELID) set the default RPM at 2,000. Having done a bit of research online it seems that you can reduce this to 1,500 without too much heat increase. Right now GPU-Z says my temp is 28c, so I should have some room to play with.
Problem is no matter what I do I can't find a way to reduce my RPM speed. I've tried various software apps, I'm even using the 3 pin power adapter so the fans are registered on the motherboard. I can see the RPM when I go into the BIOS, but it won't let me change it.
Fan = GELID ICY VISION (http://www.gelidsolutions.com/products/index.php?lid=1&cid=17&id=52)
Motherboard = GA-MA770T-UD3P (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3534&dl=1#ov)
Would greatly appreciate some help. I don't want to spend my entire Friday evening sorting this out
