can i ask what the difference between the classic and alpha versions are? i played a bit online free last night and it is addictive.

Everything, in Classic you just place blocks, Alpha has that and also mining, fighting, collecting resources, crafting.

had to change to a new username it is now MrBlackV - could you add me to the whitelist? btw I built a stick and thats about it. might need a little guidance , oh and annoyingly, I found some kind of arrowhead in single player, saved then went back later and my toy dissapeared . Annoying as i bet I could have built a caveman weapon with my new stick.

Guys can I ask is there a way to set your home position in single player?

Nope I don't think there is. Best just to build a big pile of dirt outside of your cave so you can track it back easily?

I dont have a cave yet, all I have is a stick, for the second time i find an arrowhead and a full arrow, save and close and when I come back all my gear and blocks are gone

With Minecraft having no tutorial yet singleplayer can seem dull till you know what you're doing.

People are migrating to a 24 man third server so everyone can build in one server.

Garsands is cancelling servers 1 and 2

ok thanks for the links dude, I have gone from scared to finding coal in a mountain, digging in and dropping into a huge cave system, have started lighting it up with torches . btw how long does a torch last?

damn server just went down


And i'd just completed the first semi successful test of the tefal Co "lavatron 3000", it was successful in so much as it covered a not inconsiderable area in lava but a failure in that it did it at random and burnt down my lab (read back garden).

I think subsequent tests will be done with water.

forever but in a future udate they will burn out after a time and need to be relit, but lanterns will be added for permanent light then.

edit new idea!, if anyone finds any green cobble (it's found around monster spawns) can i have it if you don't want it?
