why wont messenger 2011 CLOSE ? (pics included)

just installed live essentials 2011.
now when i close messenger it pops backs up and sits on my task bar which is annoying me.
i've clicked exit / close. nothing in the settings seems to fix it. anyone else have this problem ?

Is it "pinned" to the taskbar? (Right click -> unpin program from taskbar)

there is only XP SP2 compatability mode not 3.
there is no "unpin" option. only "pin" but its already pinned.

any ideas ?

i ticked the box "run this programe as an administrator".

first time using vista?

xp sp2 compatibility would have worked fine, change it to that, reboot then it should stay in your notification area and not taskbar.

i never update mine hehe im using some 2008 version of msn i heard quite a lot of my friends having hassel with the new 2011 msn.

my new msn is perfectly fine, it does all i need bar one thing
i can't change display name without changing the entire account name, not a big issue, just an irritation

i have made it the same size as old style msn, and the contact are exactly the same
