Hope it's not :(. Had enough of that damn map on bf2, far too many 24/7 karkand infantry servers. Not sure it would work too well on this either, whole first section of the map would be destroyed in minutes from the mass grenade spam that always occurs.

This is good! The main problem with the first section was the central/right compound and first flag point. With some destruction in the mix it should make it less of a choke point.

Irony overload, demize from Dice complaining about a buggy update to a game...

Also theres apparently a "new" map on the way, or a port from bc1 called oasis. Also seen seen people mention a dice test server running a map called "harvest day".

Christ help us for the next update if some new maps are included, probably well over a gig since the last update was 900meg with just some fixes...

hmm well some good things some bad.

Its nice that Dice are still patching the game and if they bring out 1, 2 or more FREE maps for BC2 that would be freaking awsome.

On the other hand, how they managed to introduce the bugs through the latest patch....

I'd be more worried about them breaking the game, rather than patch size. They can't even get a few skins working or fix a few bugs without adding a load more. Probably add new maps and all the old ones will stop working.

I was playing a game earlier and there was a very good player in the Apache. No one could hit him for ****. It's extremely hard to take out a chopper when it's piloted by a decent player.

Yeah just played a few rounds and it was hard to hit a barn door with the sniper, long distance shots were way off, then again, you have to wonder what it is like in reality. Had a barnstorming session as the engineer though. Been playing MOH recently and I forgot just how good a game BC2 really is.

If BF3 was a lovechild between those two games, then sign me up now.

Maybe, they were on about completely new maps that haven't been played online before.

I'm sure they'll be 4 new maps.

When you are in the lobby the little message that scrolls along the bottom says, TWO new maps are coming.

But the blog says 4?

Map 3: Cold War

Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 singleplayer

Game modes: Rush, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Map 4: Heavy Metal

Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 singleplayer

Game modes: Conquest, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Sounds like they're converted Sp maps so might not be considered new.

Why do you think Oasis is so loved by so many Battlefield players out there?
-- Oasis contains what Battlefield is all about. A variety of vehicles, from helicopters to tanks, jeeps, and boats

Sounds good with a nice mix of vehicles.

Boats are really under used, both aticama, and port valdez would be better with them for flanking.

Even after MOH and COD:BO this still seems to be the best shooter out there, though nubers on server have dropped off a bit recently

New maps are much needed, I didn't think they'd come TBH because of Vietnam

Shame the engine is probably too complex for there ever to be a SDK released or any kind of community mods/mapping

Just read the new post on Battlefield blog. Apart from bug fixes my prayers have been answered! (Hopefully)

The multiplayer game mode of choice on this remastered version of Heavy Metal is Conquest... The three flags are spread over the entire terrain... this map is even bigger than Atacama Desert.

There are plenty of vehicles here, and they will spawn on captured bases...

:D
