Hey

Could be a driver problem i reccomend trying to download the latest driver from ATI.
Also out of intrest what sort of power supply are you using this could be an issue with the power supply.
Another idea would to see if you can moniter gpu temps because it may be overheating at idle and when game is loaded you may push it over the edge but try Furmark to stress it so you can moniter temps while stressing.

Jyst a few ideas.

Regards Ryan

Thank you for the reply.

I have an 750psu. I have the lastest drivers from the ati site. for the temps i am using CPUID HWMonitor to keep an eye on them, idle my gpu is 33'c fully loaded with Furmark 03,05 an 06 it hits about 60-65'c but it never crashes on Furmark tests :S.

Hey

What brand is the psu

Also are the CPU temps ok? Idle and load just an idea.

I would also suggest visiting the Microsoft website and downloading the latest distribution of direct x

Also try and get prime 95 and rub a blend test you may have a ram problem causing crashes

Let me know how you get on

Regards Ryan

hello,

My cpu runs at 32'c Idle and 47'c fully loaded. My psu is a win power +.

I ran that prime 95 and here is my results:

Thanks for you help,

Hey

Looks like cpu is fine because that has thrown up some errors you could try running mem test which will tell you if your memory is the culprit.

http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

just download burn to disk and run at boot up i think this will give you a good gauge at seeing if your ram is at fault. Mem test should be error free when you run it.

Also what is the brand of your make/model of your ram just so i can check your running right voltage/ timings.

Also how long you had the psu its not a known quality brand so this may cause it. To test this try and run prime 95 and furmark to put your system under load. but try that after you have eliminated ram using memtest.

Let me know how you get on.

Regards Ryan

i will have to buy some disks first lol. the psu is only 1wk old and the ram is only 5days old, The ram spec is:

Brand: PKR Technology
Model Number: 4GBD2800
Capacity: 4GB (1x4GB)
Type: DDR2 PC2 6400
Frequency: 800MHz
Voltage: 1.8
Latency: CL5
Module Config: 8x 512MB
DIMM Size: 240 Pins Desktop RAM

on another note, i've just try to play Sniper-Ghost-Warrior for the first time and when i go into the game it will be fine for about 2mins then the whole screen will go white, strange could this be more to do with my graphic card?.

thanks
chris

If it's failed prime then it could be the memory or the CPU. Not heard of win power+ before, but they don't sound like a decent brand, so it could be that it's not supplying enough power to your system.
Since it survived furmark, your GPU is fine. I would definetly try get that memtest done, that RAM brand sounds dogdy as well.

I've just done the ram test and it ws fine,

there was one thing bugging me tho with the ram, tell me if i am wrong, where it says,
"setting: ram 200mhz (ddr400) / CAS :4-4-4-12 / ddr2 (64bit)"
I thought my ram was DDR2 PC2 6400 800MHz, so did i get the wrong ram chip sent to me?.

so do you think it could be the PSU now?.

Thank you
Chris

Hey

Psu is a possibilty i would try running prime 95 and firmark together to get the power usage high and see if it crashes.

Running out of ideas:L

Let me know how it goes

hi,

i ran prime 95 and 3d mark 03 all at the same time (still scored 46468, if thats good?) while have HW monitor running so i can see the power out come is and it did not crash with all that running.
149479_461193346824_540221824_5903230_5080642_n.jpg

is this any good?.

i'm going to try one thing as well, i'm going to uninstall my graphic card drivers with driver sweeper and reinstall the ones i got from my graphic card and see how i go from there.
will report back an let you know
thanks
chris

hello again,

I've installed my graphic card driver again but like said when i uninstall them i use driver sweeper to make sure everthing was gone!.
try playing crysis again with everthing max out inc my ATI CCC was all max out as well, and when i was playig it this happen to me
149008_461208731824_540221824_5903861_3841014_n.jpg

sorry if the picture is not good but i had to quicky load up my phone cam to get it...

i know thats not a good sign when you get it, so what is it?.

one other i thing i did forget to say, just be before the any of my games crashes or frezze up the sound goes all funny as well but that is a 1 sec before it all happens, could you think it could be the sound?. at the mo i am using the on board sound on my mobo (ASrock n68c-s ucc) i do have a sound blaster audigy 2 zs, i can install it but the only thing i am worried about is, it could be rite under my graphic card fan (about 1cm away) do you think that would be ok or not?

thanks
chris

hello,

update report:
I have install my sound blaster audigy 2 zs and still no change! but when where it is so close to my graphic card my graphic card is now running 45'c Idle, its about 10'c increase since and i don't think that is any good!.

Could it be just them games?, cause it dont happen on my COD games or far cry, counter strike soruce!.

it was the same what i posted last night.

in regards to what i put last night;

there was one thing bugging me tho with the ram, tell me if i am wrong, where it says,
"setting: ram 200mhz (ddr400) / CAS :4-4-4-12 / ddr2 (64bit)"
I thought my ram was DDR2 PC2 6400 800MHz, so did i get the wrong ram chip sent to me?.

am i rite to thing that or not?.

Regarding the sound issue, it sounds like that's part of your PC crashing, doesn't sound like a problem with the sound card/chip itself. 45 degrees isn't dangerously hot though.

It sounds like your memory might be running at lower settings that the motherboard supports, rather than their original which I'm guessing it doesn't. There shouldn't be any problems though if it passed memtest. Your 3rd and 4th cores are throwing up errors, I wonder if they might be a bit dodgy?

if it is the core's what else can i do then to get it working fine?.
with the meo should i change the timming in the bois then or not?, if what timmings should i have?,
thanks
chris,
