Another new car thread (MX5)

MX5 parts.com is the place to go for bits and bobs, chrome, clear indicators etc. Get a tasty exhaust and a k&n panel filter to let it breath easier.

Seems like a really good price for it, should give you plenty of smiles per miles :)

Definitely sort out the ride height though!

Do things like springs validate the warrenty? Got a year with the dealer and don't want to screw it up.

Any recomendations on springs? seen a set of Eibach 45mm Sports Springs for £137 on MX5 parts

Is it bad that I laughed so hard I actually fell off my chair to this?

And very decent price, cracking cars to drive apparently, you just bought the wrong age imo :p

Needs de-tango'ing and lowering though!

Go have a word with WIM (wheels in motion). That guy will recommend what springs to get and then do you a good alignment setup. What happened was they raised that age mx5 up for Europe. The big problem is that they didn't alter the geometry at all to take into account the increased ride height. Best way is to lower it back down to stock, I seem to remember it being Eibach springs. Then go get a full alignment setup, which WIM will do a good fast road setup which will improve how it handles.

The 1.8 version, and you originally wanted an S2000?! Welp, you must be really disappointed.

Well thankfully I never got round to test driving one, and I'm extremely happy with how the mx5 drives. It's a huge difference from what I'm used to - a measley 64bhp (I'd be lucky if it still made 50). I can always chop this in against an s2k a few years down the line once insurance isn't a joke.

Ta, I was originally looking at Eibach. Priced quite well and gives 45mm lowering.
