So, a company accidentally delivers a parcel to my old address... only they are not in so the house next-door signs for it. I visit the old house the next day, not knowing that fact, and ask for my parcel at my old house- they deny any knowledge of receiving it. The next day I realise by looking at the tracking that it was actually signed for by the next door neighbours there. So I go back and speak to them, who inform me that yes, try did sign for it, but the people at my old house picked it up that evening (and so DID have it when I first visited)...

The neighbour and I both tried ringing the bell but nobody answered and I don't want to keep going back there to try and make contact again. So basically I can only presume that they have stolen my parcel.

The company are replacing the goods and don't seem too fussed about getting the first order back... But I'm extremely bothered about it. Is it call the local police station time? What else can I actually do? I'm on the train so please forgive the crapness of this explanation.

Revenge, is needed.

I would try them again and make it your final visit. It doesn't matter about the company replacing the goods it's the principal of the matter.

Should they answer explain yourself politely and the fact you know it's with them. You want to sort this out civilly but if they refuse and kick of you will go to the police.

At least that way they've been given an ultimatum.

If they don't answer after your final attempt they have had their chances and nor do they have any intention on sorting this out.

So go to the police and let them know. They should come round to your old house with you and ask themselves.

Your contract is with the company who sent the package and it is up to them to rectify it as they see fit.
You have not suffered any loss and your goods are being replaced by the company who sent them. You can't act as some sort of vigilante on behalf of the company you purchased goods from.

I'm afraid it very much does matter. Principal does not come into it, the situation is resolved, the company are losing out and it is up to them if they wish to pursue it. The OP cannot legally pursue this on their behalf!

Gallon of petrol through their letterbox

that will teach them to stealz your stuff

btw whats in the parcel?

That says to me the company delivered it to his old address by mistake, not he gave them his old address to deliver to

How?

When you order something, you will have chosen and checked which address you want your item delivered to.

For them to deliver to his OLD address, he's obviously not updated his new address or gave them the old.

Imagine if you have two addresses tied to an account. If you tick the new one and they for some reason deliver it to the old one by mistake, its not his fault is it?

But why would you have two addresses for your home?

I thought it would be common sense to update the old address to the new, no?

That's what I did, and I've moved houses 3 times.

Yes, but some people leave the old address on there as well as adding the new one.

Then they just keep selecting the new one when they get the option, I dont know why, it does make more sense to delete it I agree, but that is probably what has happened.

I've had money paid into the wrong bank account before because the person who was filling my info in to their systems obviously didn't bother/thought it was probably the same as last time. So I can understand how something would be delivered at the wrong place :)

Try sending someone around that they haven't seen before and will open the door too.
