What's the best way to whiten teeth. 'Tis something of an embarrassing problem for me, as my teeth are in a right state :p

Is there a good way to go around doing it? Like is there a best brand/product of toothpaste to use? I know of someone who paints his teeth, but that seems like a bad idea to me :D

Please no jokes, it really is an embarrassing problem :)

Starts with the diet. Are you eating anything that could stain your teeth? Sugary foods, coloured foods, tea, coffee, fizzy drinks etc?

Also, teeth yellowing is actually a natural chemical process, just like how paper naturally yellows over time.

Dentist, you can either do it on the day, or they give you a kit to take home.

Which you have to remember, you can't eat anything that stains, like Mustard during it !

to start with you dont even say that you brush your teeth :D

1. get a decent tooth brush. electric ones are good. use a decent brand tooth paste.
2. clean your teeth at least twice a day
3. use mouth wash
4. use dental floss, if needed

i think that is the basics to keeping your teeth in decent shape/colour

Whitening toothpaste just helps prevent stains and the actual whitening effect is ineffective. Also, some people just have naturally yellow teeth that aren't stained.

Jesus, a lot of replies to such a pathetic thread :D

Yes I do brush my teeth, 2-3 times a day NOW, but I never used to. There's nothing sweet/sugary/citrusy (is that a word?) in my diet at all. The only thing I'll be eating which I'm unsure of is citrus fruits, i.e lemons:p

What's a good brand of toothpaste/electric brush/mouth wash to get? (got manual brush atm, it's bad:p)

People seem to like them strips - thanks for that! :)

Brush them more, ie three times a day solid.

Get a timer, maker sure you are spending at least 5-7 minutes.

Your poor manual toothbrush will do nothing really.

Oral b or whatever.

Two things to buy -

Crest whitening strips (done the job well)

And then the crest 3d tooth paste, within a week of these, i got told a few times on how good my teeth looked, once in a club a girl came up to me and asked if i used whitening stuff! Second, work collegues, crest is the way forward, excellent products, and cheap.
