Hello All!

I have an HP dc7700p machine I use as an HTPC. It has 2GB RAM and plays 720p video just fine. I want to buy a dedicated video card for it so that I can have an HDMI port to hook it up to my new projector AND play Blu Ray movies.

Can someone recommend a video card that can do all this, is low profile and will work with the 240 watt power supply? ;)

I was considering this card:

HIS ATI Radeon HD 5450 1024MB GDDR3 SILENT Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card (H545HR1G) [H545HR1G]

Thanks! :D

Card will fit just fine as long as you have the low profile bracket fitted.
The 5450 is an extremely low power card so the PSU wont be an issue either.

Thank you!

Can you recommend a good Blu Ray player (not interested in a writer) that would work well in the dc7700p with the 5450 card?

Also, can one play ripped Blu Ray ISOs from a hard drive once this video card is fitted?

The 4 series do not support the latest HD audio codecs

OK so I have decided to purchase the following items to be installed in my HP dc7700p to enable Blu Ray playback:

LG CH10LS20 10x BluRay-ROM / 16x DVD±RW Drive - Black (OEM)

Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA-II 64MB Cache - OEM (WD10EARS)

HIS ATI Radeon HD 5450 1024MB GDDR3 SILENT Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card (H545HR1G)

And I'll be installing Cyberlinks PowerDVD 10 so I can play Blu Ray movies in Windows 7 Media Centre.

What does everyone think? Is it all gonna be ok and work? ;);)

PS: The hard drives just so I have some more space for ISOs as my 80GB drive is full!

HDCP error ;-(

Hi Everyone

I ended up ordering the parts I mentioned above (LG Blu Ray drive, 1TB Samsung HDD and the HIS ATI 5450 video card) for my HP dc7700p.

Everything was going great. It all installed perfectly and I have played some BluRay movies that I have rented.

On the weekend I decided to treat myself to "Planet Earth Special Edition" on BluRay but when I tried to play it I get the following error:

Cyberlink PowerDVD is not able to play the protected content on your digital output device. Switch to an analog output(VGA, D-Sub) and try again - (Code = 0110)

I am running 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate (fully patched)
Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra
The LATEST ATI drivers for the video card

I have my Media Centre PC (the dc7700p) connected to my projector (a Sanyo PLV Z5) with an HDMI cable. ALL components support HDCP according to the manuals/specsheets/etc.

Can someone explain to me why this HDCP error is occurring now? All the other BluRay movies I have tried so far have played perfectly...such as:
Matrix Trilogy
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
Secret Window
Enemy Of The State
Blood Diamond
Predator 2

When I run the BluRay advisor from Cyberlink everything passes the tests except the "HDCP compliant display" which doesn't pass.

Can anyone help and shed some light on this? I am lost...

Currently I have the HTPC connected to HDMI1 on the projector but tonight I will connect it to HDMI2 and see what happens. Will report back then. Thanks for the suggestion!

PS: Could only one of the HDMI ports be HDCP enabled? That would be weird...

OK I tried connecting the HTPC to HDMI2 and it made no difference.

The only way I can get Planet Earth Special Edition in BluRay to play was when I installed the trial edition of AnyDVD HD. Then it played first time. Kind of ironic that I need to install a DVD ripping program on my machine to be able to play an original movie!!!

Is there anything else I need to do? I've installed the latest ATI video drivers. PowerDVD is well up to date. All my components support HDCP. I am well and truely stumped, any more ideas that I can try???

I still dont understand why the BluRay Advisor keeps telling me that I dont have an HDCP monitor/display when I do...

I unplugged the HDMI cable from the projector and connected it to HDMI2 but this made no difference.

Are you saying I should unplug the HDMI from the video card rather? While everythings on?

Could it be the cable at all? Its just a cheap £3 HDMI cable...
