In their infinite wisdom, Alfa must have decided to make the most triangular/pointy shaped seat bolsters for the GTA in existence. Now im not large/fat by any stretch, and neither was the previous owner, but I can see quite clearly that it's easy to rub said bolster when getting into the car. Happens quite regularly to me if the wife has driven the car, puts the seat forward, I use the car and rub the damn thing. It's the one thing that bugged me when I bought the car as the other bolsters, and indeed the rest of the leather is in pretty good nick. Apologies for the quality, aaaiphone and some unflattering reflections going on but you get the gist...

So...are there any kits or solutions that can patch up, or at least dye the leather to improve the look? This is going to sound proper chavvy but boot polish (lol) covers it up extremely well :D...for about a week.

Boot polish? lol

For a cheap solution use a sharpie

Other than that you could get the worn sections replaced (not as expensive as you might think) by a re-upholsterer (spelling?)

Most people swear by Gliptone Liquid Leather.

Yep, already use Gliptone Liquid Leather restorer cleaner and conditioner, pretty much since buying the car. Does the job extremely well, but it's not up to this bit unfortunatley.

Yeah, I reckoned I could work some boot polish into the affected bits. Didn't last, though the effect was pretty good whilst it did.

Easiest fix...lay off the pies. :p

:) Im not even close to being fat, quite the opposite at the moment.

Glyptone scuff master will sort that right out, ignore the 10% dilute leather wash instruction use it neat and apply it with your finger with a glove on, rub it right in.

Im on their page as I type. Looks like a decent shout Mark.

Iv tried them all over the years thats the best i have found do it yourself. Also i am useless at anything car related remember, so if it works for me, it is good.

Hmmm 156 GTA not listed, guessing the leather off a 1997 156 (black) will be close. Cant really send a sample as recommended for obvious reasons.

Black is black on that textured leather you will be ok.

Ordered. Lets see how it goes. Worth a punt at £15 delivered to Gib.

Biggest result you have had is its black so it will come out perfect.

Its a pain when you have to start mixing your own colour with the lighter colours they send you to mix in with the main colour if the match is not perfect.

has anyone here had any leather repairs when the leather has worn to the point that you can see the white filling coming throughin one spot on the bolster? it seems being a big bar steward like me is incompatible with the longevity of sports seats :(
